The Charles

The Charles Dallas should definitely be on your #pescatariantravellist! We had the tuna tartare, octopus, spicy shrimp pasta, and pesto crab pasta and Wowzer! Every dish was insanely good. The tuna tartare was fresh and flavorful, the octopus was perfectly tender, and both pastas were chef's kiss. The pesto crab was rich and buttery, while the spicy shrimp pasta had just the right kick.The vibe? Spot on for a date night--moody, intimate, and effortlessly cool. Great service by Jill!

Great sister restaurant of Mister Charles. We had reservations on a Saturday evening and came with some friends. It was bustling and lively. We waited by the bar for a little bit until our table was ready. Our server was friendly and made some great recommendations. Before we knew it, our table was filled with an abundance of plates, to be shared family style. Everything we had was great, except the steak dish, no one cared for it. Still not sure what exactly it was from the menu. It was oddly prepared, tasted raw, or fermented. Some of our favorites were the pastas and seafood appetizers. We also had a bottle of Dom and some cute cocktails. The ambience is definitely very nice for a night with friends as it's quite loud for intimate conversations. It's beautiful decorated and the tables are tightly spaced. Reminded me of being back home in a typical NYC restaurant.

We had a wonderful evening at The Charles! Both the food and service was wonderful. For drinks we had a "Nice & Sloe" and my husband had something with amaretto, for our starter we had the meatballs, for pasta we had the spicy seafood dish and the ricotta dish, and lastly for dessert we had the tiramisu and the olive oil cake. We are both teachers so for us this type of restaurant is a huge splurge so I'm glad that it was well worth it! My favorite dish of the night were the meatballs and I didn't have a least favorite. We have previously been to Sister and I would say that I still prefer Sister over The Charles but I think that has more to do with a menu and a cozier overall vibe, plus I love lower Greenville, than any fault of the restaurant itself. The Charles feels a bit swankier to Sisters coziness.

Jonathan and team were incredible! From being seated in a private room for my friend's birthday to ensuring both allergies (gluten and mushroom) were avoided to keeping drinks flowing, this experience was top tier! All of the food we had was so delicately put together and having several managers check in on us to Jonathan ensuring the food and drinks partnered well--we WILL be back! Thank you for such a wonderful evening!!

Went with a group of 8 for a bachelorette dinner and was the best experience! Johnathon was the best server I've ever had! He was so attentive and fun! All the food items we got were also 10/10!

We had such a great experience here. The service, and the food is top-notch. Thank you so much to NATE and Rome for making our experience an absolute five star. The octopus was extremely tender and had a very smoky taste. The pasta was amazing, we had the one with Wagyu, and it was simply delectable. The oysters were fresh, and had extreme flavor. You have to get the Barada salad and a tuna carpaccio it is one of the best small dishes you will have here thank you so much for an unforgettable evening. We will be back.

10/10 for experience, service and food! I was celebrating my birthday with a party of 6, we all loved our food and cleaned the plates. I recommend leaving time to explore the speakeasy after dinner. I am very happy I chose to celebrate here, it was very lively and the Charles staff made it a special night!

Always always so obsessed with The Charles! We were seated in the fun room near the bar (which is absolutely gorgeous). This area has a pink purple tint to the light, excuse the photos. They always have the most fresh delicious starter crudos and of course their pastas are unmissable! They do a phenomenal job with flavors and textures. We also got their chicken this visit, which was absolutely mindblowing. They sous vide it and it is so impossibly tender and flavorful. Great drinks and even better service! We loved our waitress and she even threw in the little ducky into my drink (I'm collecting them with each visit here haha)

Rome was such an awesome server and really enhanced the experience of the Charles. Our group decided to go with pasta dishes as it was the day after Thanksgiving but the pastas are to die for. Will definitely be back (and maybe to try the chef tasting menu). Ps check out the speakeasy before you leave!

Could not recommend this place more. The service, the food, the drinks! Everything is incredible and an amazing experience. I come here every year on my birthday and they never disappoint.
