Texas Archery Academy

A few years back we use to go frequently and it was a great range (the one in Plano area next to the golf store) however more recently that site closed. As I understand, they are working to find a new location but til then have to rely on the assorted collection of ranges spread out across the DFW community. Some of these require membership to access (with membership card). I've been unable to try any of the other ranges as my previous membership expired so will hold off on full review until can get to one of these ranges successfully.

Pretty chill spot to hang out or go on a date. Equipment is OK. You may want to bring your only equipment if you're not a beginner.

The staff was really kind and accommodating. We really enjoyed our experience here! Time really flew by.

They have followed their COVID safety protocols, staff has always been kind for the many years I've been here and I've yet to have an issue with their facilities outside of just excessive wear and tear on targets. If you're looking for somewhere to test out a new now at short range or just experience archery, this is the place to go!

Went for a date night and had a blast! The entire staff is so friendly and helpful, making it a fun experience. They offer as much or as little instruction as you'd like and keep the place extremely clean. There are a variety of ranges to keep it entertaining and fresh for every skill level.

4.5 starsMy boyfriend and I have been wanting to try archery for months now. When we found the Groupon for Texas Archery Academy that was $10/hr including a short instruction (they put the timer on for an hour after the short instructional video and in-person demos), I was really glad we tried it out here.The staff was friendly, patient, and encouraging, even to newcomers. We were able to learn the safety and different techniques and tips on how to shoot the arrows. I like that everything is very organized here, and that there are targets such as animal cut-outs or balls you can aim for. I think overall it was a great, enjoyable experience to learn a new sport.

Great place, the instruction was great as well. Will def be back when I'm in town, super fun!!

Looking for something different to do with my daughter and we ended up here. Neither of us have actually held a bow n arrow but we watched "Brave" and "Hunger Games" and felt we'd be experts. The truth was something totally different. The staff was very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Walked us thru every step with patience and gave great suggestions for improving our aim. When our session was over I was actually hitting my targets instead of the wall behind them. It's a great outing for the cost and we will definitely be back!

I bought one of their groupon. and so far, I have not been able to use it. They do not have a phone number to call, and they do not answer their emails.
