Te Deseo is, hands down, one of the most exceptional dining experiences. From the moment we walked in, the vibrant ambiance, impeccable decor, and lively energy transported us to what felt like an upscale Latin American oasis. Every detail of the restaurant was perfection. What truly made our evening unforgettable was our incredible server, Thalia. She went above and beyond to ensure our experience was flawless. Her warm smile and genuine enthusiasm immediately made us feel welcome, and her knowledge of the menu was outstanding. Thalia's recommendations were spot on, and she guided us through the menu with the expertise of someone who clearly loves what they do. We started with the ceviche, which was fresh and bursting with flavor, followed by quesadillas and nachos that were nothing short of divine. Each dish was beautifully presented and crafted with high-quality ingredients.Thalia's attentiveness was unmatched; she anticipated our needs without being intrusive, and her cheerful demeanor added such a personal touch to the evening. She made us feel like VIPs and turned an already amazing dinner into a truly special experience. Te Deseo is a must-visit for anyone seeking exceptional food, a fun and lively atmosphere, and top-tier service. And if you're lucky enough to have Thalia as your server, you're in for an absolute treat! To help us celebrate 15 years of marriage she also left us a nice treat at the end of the night. Thank you, Te Deseo and Thalia, for a night to remember. We can't wait to come back!

To be fair, I didn't try a whole lot of items on the menu. I did really like tuna tartar tacos. The chips for the guacamole was very salty for my liking. And the guacamole lacked flavor. The octopus was mid. But I have to say the service and ambience was great. I just wish I was more happy with my meal but again I didn't try enough of the menu !

If I could give this restaurant less than zero stars, I would. Our experience was nothing short of disastrous from start to finish. We had a 6:45 PM reservation, well before the peak dinner rush on a Saturday. Upon arrival, we were informed that our table wasn't ready because the previous party was still paying their bill. Fair enough--we were told it would be 10-15 minutes. However, after one drink at the bar, I asked for an update and was then told the kitchen was "backed up" and it would be another 30 minutes. Keep in mind, the restaurant opens at 5 PM, and they had only seated their first round of reservations. How can the kitchen already be overwhelmed? By this time, it was 40 minutes past our reservation, and we had tickets to a comedy show at 8 PM.Trying to stay patient, we asked the hostess if we could sit at one of the five empty tables near the bar due to our time constraint. Instead of accommodating us, they seated our group of four at a small two-top table. Again, we kept our composure, paid our bar tab, and moved to this less-than-ideal seating arrangement.Once seated, we immediately placed our dinner order, hoping the food would come out quickly. Another 30-40 minutes passed with no food. We repeatedly asked our waiter for an update, and after another 10 minutes with no resolution, we decided to cancel our order since we were now at risk of missing our show. What happened next was shocking. Instead of apologizing or attempting to make the situation right, the waiter had the audacity to bring us a bill for the drinks we'd ordered while waiting at the table--even though we had already paid a tab for our first round of drinks and queso at the bar. When we raised the issue, the waiter called over the manager, who--astonishingly--needed us to explain the situation from the beginning. Shouldn't a manager be aware of how their customers are being treated? After over an hour of waiting, we left the restaurant having eaten nothing but queso. The lack of professionalism, accountability, or basic courtesy from the staff and management was appalling. Even as we walked out, we overheard another group behind us complaining of the exact same issues. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The staff and manager showed zero remorse and made no effort to rectify their mistakes. They didn't even offer to refund our first check. I will never return, and I would urge others to avoid this poorly run establishment.

Honestly, two stars is being nice. Insanely over priced for BLAND food. I ordered shrimp Diablo and I got about 10 pieces of TINY shrimp that was not seasoned at all. My friend sent back two of her plates because both the brisket and the chicken did not have any seasoning whatsoever. $40 for 10 pieces of bland shrimp and a $30 free to bring my friend a birthday cake... I absolutely do not recommend this place especially because the rooftop bar is nowhere near nice enough for their prices. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT BAR!!

Thalia was a true delight from start to finish! She was incredibly attentive; when we noticed our table was unbalanced, she promptly came over to fix it. I allowed her to choose some expertly crafted drinks for us, and I was not disappointed. We began with the ceviche trio, which was delicious and accompanied by popcorn and corn chips. For the main course, we savored the braised short rib and camarones brochettas, both of which were outstanding. Thank you once again, Thalia, for your exceptional hospitality! Overall it's a pretty cool vibes!

Evening started with the restaurant not opening its doors until 1710- which is 10 minutes late. There were 29 people in line waiting. Service was not up to par. I ordered a water refill at 1737. It came at 1757...20 minute wait for water. The server had not come to check on the table during the entire 20 minutes.. the meal came at 1803 after 45 minutes.....finally the plates were placed in front of the wrong diners. I was served my wife's meal and vice versa.

We decided to go here on the way to an event. I saw that the reviews were good, and the brisket tacos were suggested as a good menu item. When we arrived, the place was super dark, but I loved the cute decor and the unique look. Food was bland and unremarkable. No chips and salsa (which is fine I guess), no Dr Pepper, and the $19 brisket tacos were small with no seasoning. The menu is completely different from what I saw online. The food pictures aren't accurate anymore either. When I went to the restroom, 2 workers were together, smoking a cig and a blunt in the large stall. Lovely. Disappointed and won't be back.

The food was amazing! The service was great but the restaurant is very dark! Hard to even see the menu. Didn't bother me too much because the food and service made up for it!

Fun birthday celebration for my brother Sunday night. Chase is a great host. We were reserved for the 'La Familia' tapas, we were seated and told that they no longer offer the 'La Familia!' Got that sorted out & they chose to provide for our reservation. Our easy-going server made the confusion all better. Food was good. The pièce d'resistance was amazing...a skull chocolate lava cake, which they flambé with perhaps too much alcohol, served with ice cream taco & fresh fruit garnish. It was simply too fun for words. This has to be THE place to celebrate Day of the Dead!

Overpriced, Inattentive Service, Rude Staff, Overcooked/Under-portioned Food, Not Worth the $$$--I suppose I should've known better than to book Te Deseo's three-course Valentine's Day Candlelight Dinner. I'd had adequate experiences here before (despite hour-plus waits sans reservation, which is typical), but this was something else...For a bill exceeding $300, I wish we'd chosen a more established restaurant - somewhere like Perry's or Bob's - where we would have received good service for the same cost, or lower. I travel to Europe often, and even there, I've never encountered such an excuse for hospitality. Our "Candlelight Dinner" started with a rude hostess shuffling us to a high-top table in the side bar room, directly next to the bar. That alone put a bad taste in our mouths for the dinner we reserved over a month ago... Why would you seat someone at a bar for a $200 minimum meal? Make it make sense. After 20 minutes without so much as a glass of water, we went back to the front to see if we could get a different table. The hostess was dismissive and reluctant to accommodate us. Thankfully, a gentleman in a white coat stepped in, politely apologized, and moved us to the main dining room - where, notably, at least 10 tables sat empty. He also offered complimentary champagne, and for a moment, we thought the night might turn around. Unfortunately, this was the highlight of the night. Our amuse-bouche and first course went smoothly (though they amounted to just a spoonful of ceviche and a half-cup of salad to share). Our first round of cocktails arrived after 20 minutes - not ideal, but not the end of the world. However, after another 20 minutes, our 6oz steaks arrived... well done! But that was hardly the worst part - we were never given steak knives. I cannot recommend the experience of trying to saw through an overcooked steak with a butter knife highly enough. As we neared the end of our baby-sized steaks, still waiting for the promised tableside dish (spoiler: it never came), my boyfriend ordered a Modelo. It would then take another 30 minutes before we saw our server again, this time finally delivering the beer (I had no idea they brewed in-house). By then, I was over it. The waiter casually offered to pack up the side dish that never arrived and brought out dessert - a fist-sized portion to share. At that point, I'd lost my appetite.I understand that Valentine's Day is busy and stressful (though I've seen Te Deseo 10x busier on a regular night and received better service). However, I was there, and I saw the lack of attention from the servers firsthand. Simple details were ignored - like ensuring steak knives accompanied the delivery of a steak entrée. If staffing was the issue, ensure to staff adequately. And if your kitchen can't execute a fixed menu that's a fraction of your usual offerings, maybe it's time to reconsider hosting prix-fixé events.I've spent both half as much and twice as much on Valentine's Day dinners in Dallas, and I've never been treated so poorly. Te Deseo, do better. And for everyone else, go literally anywhere else on Valentine's Day.
