Sweet Georgia Brown is a soul food gem in Dallas! Don't let the line scare you--it moves quickly, and the food is absolutely worth it. Just make sure you're ready with your order when you reach the front.I finally decided on the pork chops, and they were juicy and seasoned to perfection. But let me tell you, the real showstoppers were the dressing and the pinto beans. Both were absolute perfection--seasoned just right and bursting with flavor. Honestly, all of the sides were incredible! I had macaroni and cheese, yams, and greens, and every single bite was amazing. My daughter got the fried chicken dinner, with four big, juicy, and well-seasoned pieces of chicken. My other daughter went for the veggie plate and loved the corn. My niece chose the barbecue three-meat plate, and we all shared desserts--a slice of lemon cake and German chocolate cake. Every single thing was fantastic.We came here for a soul food dinner after church, and Sweet Georgia Brown delivered in every way. The portions are enormous--you'll have leftovers for days--and the flavor is second to none. This is the kind of food that feeds your soul. Five stars, without a doubt!

This place is always a treat for your taste buds but not your wallet lol Be prepared to wait in line and there is minimum AC inside as you wait. This place gets a 4 only because of the prices. I will say you can eat on that food for the rest of the day! They are not shy with portion sizes.

The food amazing! People are so sweet in there. Let me tell you if you are hungry go there. Serving portion is a lot. One order can feed 2 people. The greens was my favorite. The sweet potato was too sweet for me, but I was good. I would go again. Small nice and clean.

The customer service from 1 employee sucks. I use to come here ALOT (like once a week) but I will never return again. The last time I went I had asked the guy toward the end to please put all my (none where cold) sides in the same container (as I always asked for my veggie plate) because it's easier to heat up my food at work in the small microwave. I don't know what he said under his breath, but he packed up my food and tossed it onto the counter at me. I thought to myself okay maybe I didn't see what I saw. I paid for my food I start to walk over to the table where they put your food in a plastic bag and the young man look at me and was going to walk over but stopped because I think that guy that tossed my food told him not too. I bagged up my own food and I never returned again. The food is good but I they will NEVER get another penny from me. That was very disrespectful. It's been a good year and a half now staying true to my word.

I ordered the special which allowed you to pick specific meats and 3 sides. It was under 20.00I had smoked chicken. Mac, greens and string beans. The Mac wasn't the best it needed some seasoning and more cheese The other sides were really good. The smoked chicken was so good. Service was relatively fast for a Saturday evening. You can tell that this place has been here for a long time. They also had big orders of food going out while I was there so it seems like it's a neighborhood staple.

Overpriced food. Nothing like it used to be. Plates are $20 and higher and the food just isn't good

Food is sooooo good. Just like home cooking. Nice, comfortable atmosphere and great service.

The food is amazing. Straight like my grandmother cooked it herself. Sooo seasoned & juicy. The service was good. The people fixing your plates are full of humor. The ambiance feels like an old diner you'd attend after church service. I got a 3 meat bbq plate & a veggie plate. The bbq sauce was perfect! The mac n'cheese was sooo cheesy & moist. everything was good.
