McKinney, TexasExcellent... App Trio w/ Baba Ghanoush, Hummus, Med dip. The Baba was VERY GOOD, as was the Hummus. Had Lamb Tikka and Makluba entrees, both excellent. NOTE the portions were very generous... enough to share or take home...Turkish Coffee and the Baklava. Great. Definitely be back.

Was hoping this would be a 4-star place but a few things kept it from that. Chicken was dry, kebab was tasteless, small portions. Some good food but pricey for what you get. Tiny salads. Noisy ambience. We may try it again.

Everything was so good! My only complaint is that there was so much food!!!We were greeted & seated right away. We started with the appetizer trio. All of it was good. My husband ordered the Iraqi Quzi. He loved it. The meat was tender & flavorful! The stew had okra which he enjoyed.I had the beef Makluba. The meat was tender & flavorful. The eggplant & potatoes were sliced thin and were cooked perfectly. The best bite was a little bit of everything in a bit. Yum!!! I was stuffed & brought half home. The baklava was equally as yummy!!! The shell shaped one was my favorite!! We will be back for Sultan's cake & tea!

We had lunch at Sultan with a group of about 12 family members, and overall, it was a great experience. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and clean, which immediately made a positive impression. When we arrived, we were the only customers there. The waiter was attentive but perhaps a little too eager, repeatedly checking if we were ready to order even after we asked for a bit more time. While I appreciate attentive service, it felt a bit overwhelming at the start.Once we placed our order, the experience improved significantly. We had the lamb tikka and kabab lamb, and the food arrived surprisingly fast. The meat was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal, and the quality of the food was truly impressive.Despite the slightly rushed start, we had a wonderful time at Sultan. I'll definitely be back for the delicious food, and hopefully next time, the service will be a bit more relaxed when it comes to taking our order.

Loved Sultan! The food is delicious, the meats are tender, and the service is friendly and attentive! They also have a cute outdoor patio! We had the appetizer trio with hummus, ezme, and babaganoush. The bread is hot and delicious Entrees we ordered the Iraqi Quzi and the meat was so tender and falling off the bone! We also had the makluba with beef and that was flavorful too and came with a side of pickled cabbage and salad that went perfectly together. I tried the ayran drink and it was interesting! A yogurt based drink that is salty and tart. Surprisingly good with the food but definitely a very unique flavor. Overall we enjoyed our meal and will be back again!

We were going to the Heard Museum for Halloween and stopped here along the way. The wife identified this place on Yelp and what a wonderful find! This restaurant is outstanding in every respect. Truly an excellent experience and worthy of more than 5 stars. If we lived closer, we would be here once a week. The interior is very attractive and gives a homey vibe. There are definite signs of a Middle Eastern restaurant but it is not gaudy or overdone.Service was excellent. We were seated and the waiter appeared shortly thereafter. His English was perfect and his demeanor was gracious and polite. Throughout the meal it was easy to get his attention for something we needed. The food is stupendous. Beyond outstanding. Beyond amazing. Beyond "awesome" (the most overused word in the English language). It was nothing short of stupendous. We started with the trio appetizer, which is three dips: roasted red pepper (the menu says spicy but it is not really spicy); hummus; and the eggplant dip that I can never spell correctly, but the one that starts with a "bag". You know what I mean. All three dips were excellent, and they came with a type of Syrian bread that I had never seen before. It was hot and went perfectly with all three dips. I had the shish taouk which is seasoned cubes of chicken breast. Oh my gosh, it was the best I ever had. By far. The chicken was very flavorful, so tender, so moist, so utterly delicious. It came with delicious rice, all served on very attractive tableware. At $23, my first impression was that it was a bit pricey but after eating it, the quality and even quantity was worth every penny. The wife had the lamb shank and she loved it. The lamb was cooked to perfection, very tender and moist. It was high quality lamb. I am not a lamb person but I tried a bite and the meat did not have the strong flavor that you sometimes get with lamb. The price was $30 which I thought was high but again, the quality was worth it. It came with the same rice as I had, plus some bean soup. Everything was absolutely delicious. The portion was so large that the wife took it home and got two lunches for the week. This restaurant is quite a drive for us or I would return the day after. We are definitely going back and I hope it will be soon. This restaurant is an absolute gem. The wife and I joked that we should move to Allen just to be close to this restaurant.

Went to an early dinner with a friends on New Years, we had to go find someone ourselves inorder to be seated. They took our order promptly. We got the babaghanoush for appetizer, I would rate it 2/5 at best. We ordered the chicken maqluba and the vegetarian maqluba for the entree. They brought the entree out within 5 minutes of the entree, it tasted good with some hot sauce on the side, it was rather oily though. They brought us bottles water and charged us for it. The ambiance is definitely 4/5, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Also, the wait staff although not rude, seemed curt.

Food and service was excellent. Highly recommended. We, party of 8 showed up about 25 minutes before closing time. However there was no "hurry up we are closing soon attitude" from any staff member. This place is going on my regular go to restaurants list!
