Small museum with lots to see! Staff was very friendly, cost to get in was minimal and there was lots of cool stuff to see. Glad we stopped in.

This museum is located on the first floor of The Livestock Exchange Building located on Exchange Avenue. Back in the day, this building was known as "The Wall Street of the West" as so much money exchanged hands buying and selling beef. I recommend any first time visitor here to go through this museum to learn more about the history of this place. A suggested admission fee is $2 and well worth that expense. The museum also includes a gift shop of reasonably priced souvenirs. The most famous part of this museum is a light bulb that has been continuously burning for over 100 years and is the second oldest continuous burning light bulb in the world. There are also many other interesting artifacts of the old Stockyard to view. Budget about 15-20 minutes inside and it's a great place to get away from the heat outside too. Closed Tuesdays.

this is an excellent museum there are many items to see and read about in here. You can learn a lot about It The people that use to come through he buying and selling cattle. You can also buy gifts to take home videos on how it all started. It's very inexpensive to walk through to help learn about the area.

Thoroughly enjoyed myself here. The museum has so many cool retro antiques. They decided to let you get up close and personal to the items, without touching of course. Came here for the Palace light bulb, but was delighted by everything else. Highly suggest you stop here $2 admission while in the Stockyards.

Part museum, part gift shop, it's the perfect stop for the men while the women are shopping for pink cowboy boots and whatnot. Though the museum is small, there really is a lot of cool stuff to look at. My favorites are the old pictures and the three-ring binder on the history of Swift & Co. (or was it Armour?). The Stockyards Museum Is Open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.--5 p.m. and Memorial Day through Labor Day--Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m.The museum is free, though donations are accepted. Web address (until info gets updated): http://stockyardsmuseum.orgPS. If it's playing, try to watch the "Wall Street of the West" DVD, narrated by Barry Corbin (of Northern Exposure fame). It's quite interesting. That reminds me, I need to see if the library has a copy.[update] Fort Worth Library does have a copy!

This isn't a museum. It's more of a small gift shop located inside the Livestock Exchange office building that's empty during the weekends. There's a $2 admissions fee. We walked past the windows and peeked inside. Didn't look interesting so we passed.

Good place to come and learn the history of the Stockyards. They also have "The Bad Luck Wedding Dress" and The Palace Theatre Light bulb that is 107 years old.

Teeny tiny museum - more like a gift shop with old stuff. Not worth your time unless you're really into old stuff and reading stuff about old stuff. It is free, but they request a minimum of a $2.00 donation. Hilarious. Who asks for a minimum donation? You are better off spending your time getting a tour by Betty at the visitor's center instead. She's awesome and will tell you all you need to know about the history of the Stockyards!

The history here is great! Things you have never seen! If you want to get the Stockyards story, this is the only museum telling that.

Cute little museum, worth $2 to spend a few minutes reading up on some of the history of the area. If you're around the area it's a nice way to kill an extra 15-20 minutes.
