Stevens Park Golf Course

I haven't played at too many courses but I know I did not like this course. First of all, this is the worst course for a beginner to practice at. No range so you go straight to it. There are creeks at half of the holes and it ate four of my balls. It cost more to play here but it was not kept in good condition. They don't mow their grass often. I lost two of my balls bury in the grass somewhere. They also aerated the putting greens last week so nobody was making their putts. Most of the holes were on an up slope so it was hard to hit. I'll stick to tenison for now

Great little golf course. It's short, even from the tips, but there are plenty of challenging shots. Greens are in good shape. No range to warmup so you better know your game.

You could say this is my "Home" course, even though I haven't played here in 25 years! Originally built in 1924 when the surrounding neighborhood was developed, it was one of City of Dallas crown jewel public courses.When I first started playing at the age of 13,you could buy an annual pass for a ridiculous price. This allowed you to play as much as you wanted for a year. Boy,did my friends and I play!At the time, this was one of around 6 public courses owned and maintained by the City of Dallas. All were beautiful municipal golf courses that would never be built today. Over the decades they faded and became less well maintained until the city decided to "farm" out ownership and maintenance to a private firm. All of the courses including Stevens Park were closed and redesigned and are now better than ever.I'm glad to see this course is continuing to challenge golfers and nurture new people to the lifetime sport.

I'll finish this later but I'm on hole #4 and paid $61 to play a course where the greens are absolutely unacceptable. The pro shop should tell customers this when booking tee times and or charge less. I'll post pictures and more later

Great old course with beautiful views of downtown Dallas. A very short course so be ready with your iron game. Never saw a beverage cart and food and drink choices were limited. If you play in the summer you need to bring some beverages as you may not see a cart during your round.

Played August 3. Course in terrible shape. James Henderson and team have done an outstanding job of taking a gem of a layout and making it almost unplayable. Stay away.

For the end of April the greens are in terrible shape, that said, the fairways are decent and they are working on the tee boxes. I will not be back until they do something about the greens. Unfortunate because it is a Dallas gem.

The greens here have been absolutely atrocious since April. We had it on the blacklist for 3 months and decided to give it another shot today thinking "there's no way it's still as bad as it was". It is. Greens are basically like putting in a sand trap. Incredible that they get away with charging full price.

We had read mixed reviews and were unsure about whether we wanted to try this course, but we were in the area and decided to risk it. What a pleasant surprise! The course was lovely! Lots of fun quirks...old stone steps, tunnels under the main road, hills and hills and hills. The Dallas skyline in the background is a nice touch. Overall it was a fantastic experience. They even delivered our sandwich to the 10th tee! We will definitely be back.

Beautiful course with a perfect atmosphere. The view of downtown completes this experience.
