Southern Eats

Went to Southern Eats with the family and it was a cool spot. I got the Chicken fried chicken with greens and red beans and rice. My chicken fried chicken was salty so I switched it out for whole wings (perfect choice). My wife got the catfish with yams and black eyed peas. The peas were definitely purple hull and the fish portions were extremely small. The highlight of the experience was our waiter Jeremiah. J was well mannered and took good care of us. Thanks to Jeremiah I will try them again.

This is my personal opinion, but as a true Mississippi girl, i know the fish advertised as catfish is swai. So disappointed. It was so chewy and overall , gets a 0/10. The collard greens still had the stems with made them hard to swallow once chewed. Yuck. I'm sure this place has other great things on the menu, but the catfish is a no go.

Southern Eats was a great place to get kitchen and cocktails. Menu was easy to read and had plenty of options to choose from. I are off the brunch menu. My catfish and waffles was great. Happy hour drinks were excellent..the Daiquiris were great.

This place is a joke. Either that or management should consider who they let run the joint on the weekends maybe even close. Such a disappointment. I mad at myself for paying what I paid. Don't do it.

Absolutely awful! Food was extremely salty, I came on a Friday around 3pm. I got the whole chicken wings, greens, and candied yams. I sent the greens back because they were so salty to the point I couldn't make it work if I tried. The chicken was salty too but I pulled the skin back and ate it as I was hungry and needed some type of food. I would have sent the entire meal back but I was too tired and hungry to do that to the server who was really nice. I believe his name was Jeremy or Jeremiah. Anyways they really need to improve the ingredients in the food because I love soul food and this wasn't it!

Hard to give even 1 star. The food was awful and everything was overcooked and the collards were rancid. This was our first time and we won't be back. When I told the waiter I didn't like something, he said "we don't do refunds." He missed the point because I didn't ask for a refund. Other than that his service was really good.Such potential but missed the mark.

This was a very disappointing experience!They made us scan a qr code to place our order, then we observed the server taking another tables' order.Ordering this way was very confusing and annoying. On top of that, we had to pay and tip in advance. Not a fan of the service. They need to go back to the way it used to be.

Wanted to try a new spot out for dinner and I'm glad we did. The restaurant is spacious and the service was great. I should have uploaded a respectable picture of my plate but I started to dig right in as soon as I got it so I apologize for that. All I can say is they are on point with all of their dishes and flavors. I ordered the whole wings, fries, red beans and rice with a daiquiri and the daiquiri was full of flavor too! My wife ordered the chicken fried chicken but we didn't get to take a full picture of that either lol yall stop by!!

Nice family atmosphere, good vibes and friendly servers. My pork chops and greens tasted great Candied Yams-wasn't my favorite

Was greeted with a smile and Got the cfc and they did not go wrong with that yams where not really sweet but Was overall a great Atmosphere and Will definitely be back
