If you've been wanting to try Malatang in Dallas, Sorimmara is the place to visit! I visited for dinner around 9pm with a group of 6 people. It wasn't busy and they had plenty of tables. Once we got our table, we went to the self serving station where you grab a bowl and fill it up with everything you want for your stir fry dry noodle or soup. You are required to get at least 1lb of food so be aware!!! They had an array of meat, veggies, and noodles in stock. Once you fill up your bowl, you take it to the cash register to weigh where your bowl is priced per lb. You also choose what mala flavor you want for your bowl. After you pay, you can go to the self serve sauce bar to make your own dipping sauce if you would like. Their rose mala xiang guo is my favorite! It's a stir fry with a cream sauce that is packed full of flavorful! Their malatang soup is also delicious; both have a strong szechuan flavor. I love spicy food and their spicy lvl 4 is pretty hot. Next time, I will stick to a spicy lvl 3 as it's more comfortable to eat. I've also tried their tomato xiang guo and it reminds me of spaghetti - strong tomato flavor (good but not a favorite). We also tried their cream shrimp guobaorou. The shrimp was nice and crispy and came with a sweet mayo sauce. I got a little over 1 lb of food and it was enough for me to take home as leftovers. Overall, the food was very tasty and I would recommend trying them for malatang! They are open 7 days a week and until 11pm!

Really enjoyed trying out Sorimmara!Similar to the other malatang places where you pick which ingredients you want and the price is by weight. They offer malatang and the dry version, but also unique flavors like rose too! They also have a sauce bar stocked with everything you need. The malatang comes out with a wax burner to keep your food hot while you eat.I like that the interior is huge and clean. They also have big tv screens so you can watch videos as you eat. Great spot to hangout with friends.

Finally, Sorimmara is in Carrollton and I went on its first day to experience Korean styled mala dishes after trying in Korea.I tried mala xiang guo and pork guo bao rou while others tried malatang. I got mine in level 3 and I perfectly enjoyed mine. If you are not good at spicy, I'd recommend 2 or even 1. There is a sauce bar where you can follow the recommended sauces or create your own. Their Medal Sauce which is sweet and spicy sauce was really good, but their peanut sesame sauce (with chopped green onion and slight chili oil) was my favorite and it went well with my mala xiang guo. They have fresh ingredients when I went except meat were all frozen. Overall, it is my favorite mala spot!I can't really say the service was great since it was their first day of soft opening and everybody was just getting adjusted. One down side was the music - way too loud for me. It was stressing me out. I will be definitely returning, but mostly for take out if the music is blasting outrageously.

As a typical malatang restaurant, there is a bowl building area where you can pick your veggies, meat, noodles, etc. I like their options here as there are more Korean style fish and rice cakes. The process is easy, but it may be a little confusing as a first timer due to the setup. When you bring your bowl of ingredients to the register, you need to remember your table number which is a little annoying; They seat you down without telling you a number but ask for it later? It's like a guessing game. The pricing here is not bad at all, but they require you to have a pound (lbs) at the least. Some may not like that but I do not mind. There are options for soup type and my favorite is rosé mala because this is the only place that does it, and it is so good!!! There are also options from the menu that you can order such as rice balls and fried shrimp but malatang is the main appeal.

Great place to make your personal hotpot and/or stirfry. There are 5 different ways to prepare your fixings which you start off with a bowl and grab all the things you want cooked in it. Be careful! It is weighed by the pound, so it can get pretty pricey the more your eyes are hungry. There are other things on the menu to order if you don't want to do a personal pot. The waitress was very helpful on helping what to do and how to order. Nice big restaurant that can fit a lot of people inside with a cool vibe playing all kinds of asian pop music. Overall cool experience!

My family and I went to this new Korean style malatang restaurant in Korea town. You pick out what veggies, meats, and other items you want in a bowl and then tell them how you want to cook it and what spice level you want. They charge you based on weight. My goal was to get the bare minimum of 1 pound and ended up getting 1.5 pounds... so make sure you keep weighing to make sure you don't go over by a lot i got the rosé mala xiang guo. My mom got the jjajang mala xiang guo and my dad got the regular malatang. The malatang is soup based while the xiang guo is stir fried. They do add numbing peppers so that kind of threw me off a bit. Overall I liked the rosé one the most. I really recommend the curry ball and sausages. The tteokbokki (rice cakes) were just ok to me. They also have a sauce bar where you can make your own sauce or any of their premade recommendations. Overall I thought it was good but I prefer a place where you don't pay by weight. The portions are huge though (maybe bc I went over on my target weight oops), you can definitely share one bowl between 2 ppl

One of my favorite new restaurants in the Carrollton area! This was my first time trying a Korean-style Mala and it was great. You build your own Mala bowl (price depends on weight) and there is a huge variety of veggies, meat, and toppings for you put into your bowl. From there, you tell the person at the counter what Mala flavor you'd like + the spice level. The staff is very friendly and offered suggestions and modifications when needed. Aside from the bowls, there are lots of appetizers and side dishes to choose from - we got the tteokbokki and it was great with a good portion. The restaurant itself has ample seating, so you should be able to get a table no issue. Highly recommend especially if you like spicy foods!

The soup broth was good! We walked in and they walked us through the process of grabbing a big clear bowl to fill up whatever we would like in our soup broth. Then you weigh the bowl at the end of the line and they will bring out the hot pot to our table. One bit of an inconvenience is the Bunsen Burner is not hot enough and doesn't stay burning long enough. I would prefer this to be a buffet at the amount of money we paid for 2 people.

음식도 너무 괜찮았고 직원분들도 너무 친절하게 잘 해주셨어요! 맵기도 정할수 있어서 매운거 못드시는분들도 맛있게들실것 같아요!The food was so good, and the staff were so kind and nice! You can choose the spiciness, so I think those who can't eat spicy food will enjoy it!
