The wife loves fried oysters. These were the best she has ever had. Same for my shrimp.Great staff that really seem to enjoy talking with the regulars coming in. And there were a lot of regulars!

I visited this Dallas staple for the first time last night. It is so cute! Theres a bar and more seating in the back as well. Also- they have two parking lots a block away. I came here after my first pilates class with Oak Cliff Pilates - love the community involvement! My group hung out at the bar in back. The waiters and bartenders were super friendly and everything came out very quick. They have a small seafood menu and a massive drink menu. Lots of great cocktails to choose from. I had shrimp cocktail, a crab cake and some fries. Best seafood I've had in Dallas. This is the place to be!

No reason to go to New Orleans to eat go to S&D Oyster bar! Step back in time to a wonderful place. Waiters wear white shirts and ties like it's supposed to be. Atmosphere is eating in a courtyard in New Orleans! Ever been to Pat O'Brians? Same. Food is delicious! The seafood gumbo is legit and the fried shrimp is the best in this area. Another stand out is the Oysters. So fresh and sweet. Went to Papadeauxs not even close. Their secret is the supplier is top notch add cold draft beer great bloody Marys and what else do you need? The desert is Lemon pie (yummy) and great bread pudding. Don't past by this place and not eat here you won't be sorry.

Love this place! My dad was in town and we were craving oysters so we thought we'd give this place a try and so glad we did. It's a cute spot. The food was so good! Not only was the food good but the service was great as well. We started off with a dozen oysters which were so good and fresh. They make a cocktail sauce at the table that is delicious! For dinner I got the blackened Red Snapper which was so good. My dad got the Manager's Taster Sampler and he loved it. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a good seafood spot.

I love everything about this restaurant. The food is always fresh. The service is very intimate and friendly beautiful restaurant. The ambience is amazing.

Old school is still cool. This place has old school ambiance and is so nice. The wait staff are all in black and white, very traditional. The tables all have the red gingham tablecloth... Real cloth.Service is really good and knowledgeable... Again, old school class. Now to the food. I got the fried shrimp platter. I got the fries and coleslaw, both very good. The hush puppies are different. They are the best I've ever had anywhere. Light and fluffy and nicely flavored with just a hint of onion.The shrimp was perfect and succulent. You can't get better this far from the coast. Wife got the broiled grouper. Cooked perfectly and nice and firm.This place leans Cajun, but does easy coast style so well. Best seafood I've had in a long time.

We really enjoyed coming out here for some oysters! I highly recommend asking for the smallest oysters they have because their oysters can get quite beefy and there's no way I can eat an oyster properly that's the size of my fist lol. They have all the fixings you need. If you're like me and need the works (training wheels) they have it all. Cute ambiance inside and staff is super cool. Highly recommend!

I have to begin by saying I have LOVED S&D in the past so so much. This weekend we decided to have dinner at S&D since it had been over a year. Our experience was somewhat disappointing. The raw oysters where difficult to enjoy bc off the broken shell pieces, my husbands blackened grouper had good flavor but way over cooked to the point it was really dry. My broiled red snapper was good but not great and the hush puppies were bland and dry. The boiled shrimp, coleslaw, and the sautéed spinach were the highlights of the meal. Our sons both had the red snapper and they also said it was good but nothing outstanding. Here is the real disappointment....my once beloved bread pudding was so so. It was served room temperature with the bourbon sauce being warmish. Just not the experience I remembered having past visits. Not sure if we will go back and spend $300+.

Jose at the bar in the back is AMAZING! Super friendly and efficient. I was only having a cocktail (and a pack of crackers!)...he checked in on me several times, but not in an obnoxious way. I would definitely go back for lunch, HH or dinner.

I'm from Louisiana. And this is the best Dallas option for great oysters, fresh fish and great service. The new wine list is nice. And the staff is incredible!!
