This restaurant is an incredible jewel in Dallas. Took a chance as a friend commented the food was very good. I was quite shocked at the portion sizes, incredible big and well made. Have enjoyed 4 visits now, and it is just as good each time I visit. Highly recommend the Honduran tacos, chicken. Wow this place has karaoke on Fridays, was a blast. My husband were looking for something different and stumbled on Ruby's Restaurant. They specialize in authentic Honduran and Oaxacan food. The food and service are excellent! We had street tacos. The chicken was succulent and well seasoned, with sweet onions, lime and cilantro. Our aguas frescas were delicious and refreshing. If English is your only language, be prepared to point and smile a lot. Everything is fresh, handmade and delicious! We'll be back very soon!

The wait for the food takes very long, I recommend that if you're going to order your food you'll have to be patient because the food is freshly prepared. When you receive your food you will understand that the wait was worth it. The cashier is rude & has no people skills but don't let that tarnish your experience with the food of the restaurant. This is why I give it three stars.

The food here is amazing. My new favorite restaurant. Authentic Honduran and Oaxacan food! Delicious beans and chips served before the meal. I had the filite mojo de ajo. A whole fish with garlic, onion sauce and delicious rice.

This place is AWESOME! Great food, great service and reasonably priced. Dont let the look or location fool you. This is a gem... not your usual Mexican cuisine. This is a deeper side of Mexico flavors and taste. Not your typical taqueria or TexMex parrillada place. This is aguas frescas, home cooking..reminds me of my abuelita feeding us. I will definately be back to try other items on the menu.

I tell y'all what! If you're into freshly made true Mexican food of the Oaxacan region that offers you lots of flavor....then, I highly recommend this awesome restaurant. Don't let the looks of the restaurant discourage your visit...they definitely make it up on their freshly made and BIG portioned dishes that they serve.If you're a Vegetarian like me, we do have some choices...but, it's limited. I highly recommend their Tacos of Flor de Calabaza (Squash Blossom) and their Tacos of Huitlacoche, (Edible Corn Mushroom), pronounced weet-la-COH-cheh. They are big portioned and the tortillas de masa (corn tortillas) are freshly done...so, don't expect your dish fast since these people actually start doing your food as you order dish from their menu. They were delicious!!! Note: You can have the Flor de Calabaza (Squash Blossom) and Huitlacoche ((Edible Corn Mushroom) in empanadas too.Note: Huitlacoche (Edible Corn Mushroom) - It is also known as cuitlacoche, corn smut, and Mexican truffle. Note: The menu that's on this Yelp review from a fellow Yelper isn't the complete menu. So, come on in to see their awesome dishes. Note: This restaurant prepares their dishes Oaxacan styleMan, I just wish I had taken pics of the dishes that my family were served. My Brother had one of their Tortas...and it was HUGE! It was the size of the whole plate...and with that stated, it was packed with delicious flavors that left my Brother wanting more.I tell y'all...the menu that is on the fellow Yelper's review doesn't display the full menu of what this restaurant really offers. Somehow, I or someone will need to take pics of their full menu for everyone to see.I highly recommend this restaurant for its delicious and BIG portioned dishes that this humble restaurant offers. I went to this restaurant with friends for the first. I got the spicy shrimp and it was awesome. Never tasted anything like it, outstanding flavor. Please tried this you won't regret it.

This place is authentic style Mexican food. Friendly service, the food is amazing and taste freshly made. I feel like I'm at home when I come here. I will for sure be coming back. My nephew also loves the food and he's a picky eater.

This is a local no frills restaurant that serves authentic Mexican food and they have dishes that many other Mexican restaurants don't have. If you're looking for authentic food, give this place a try.

Great service and wonderful food!! Ruby Restaurant is quite a gem!! We had a Tyluda with huitilacoche and the Mole Emoladas with beef. Both were excellent. We felt transported to Mexico..what a fabulous lunch!
