I visited Royal Oaks Country Club 3 weeks ago to support my little sister at the North Texas PGA Junior Tournament. Absolutely gorgeous country club. Private, of course. The entire property is well kept. Seriously, there's nothing to complain about.*friendly/professional staff*high tech golf carts*keypad entry outdoor restrooms*amazing pro shopIf you get the opportunity, GO!

This was once a very friendly tennis experience for non members limited to clinics and for private lessons. But no more.We have enjoyed playing tennis in clinics and private lessons as non members. No more.Club ExperienceRoyal Oaks tennis has a new policy for the New Year. "We hate non members and if you are a non member we will be the most hateful, nasty to you bitches on the planet.Pro ShopExcellent, well run, retail area with updating of clothing, shoes and racquets.Pro StaffThe existing pros which have been a strength are excellent but the members and policies have caused them to be different than in the past.... unfortunately. Royal Oaks is adding new, barely out of high school pros that do not have the experience of the pros that once made Royal Oaks a great club. The Pro Gene pool is being weakened and overall club experience will suffer. It appears management will be forcing the experienced pros out for cheaper talent. If you are thinking of joining you may want to question the plans of management before investing your $$$.Indoor Courts (weakest part of the club)The facilities only have 2 indoor courts for bad weather days and the lighting is by 2 kerosene lanterns. (Dim in other words). New lighting has been promised but not implemented. You will not be able to see during indoor play. Play on the indoor courts by any standards is a terribly compromised situation and not worthy of exclusive status.Outdoor CourtsThe outdoor courts are excellent and the maintenance of them is first class. The highlight of the club.

Beautiful country club where the greens were redesigned just this year and the clubhouse circa 2007. The clubhouse and golf course were beautiful, and when you're out there, you barely recognize that you're in the middle of a large city. The trees, foliage, and subtle rolling hills add to the beauty and charm of this country club.A few things to note on the golf course:1. The course instituted a Cart Path Only policy, so you'll probably get some exercise in2. The greens play faster during the winter because the new Bermuda grass goes dormant quicker3. The greens also are harder to hold so you may want to hit approach shots short of the pin4. About 5 holes were redesigned5. In the redesign, a fair amount of trees were removed, but the number of bunkers increased from 56 to 83Onto the food - for lunch, there was a salad buffet and prime rib station. I thought the salad buffet was quite good (4 stars). For dinner, I ordered a wedge salad and the sea scallops over butternut squash risotto. The service and ambiance was good, but the food was OK. The wedge had a fun twist with fried onion strings topping the wedge, but the dressing was too heavy and the blue cheese crumbles too large. The sea scallops were recommended by my waiter and were grilled with brown sugar and sage butter atop a bed of butternut squash risotto and oyster mushrooms. The presentation was nice and the scallops were cooked perfectly. However, i really didn't care for the risotto. Some of the chunks of butternut squash were tough and undercooked and it was tasted way too sweet for my liking. I did not get dessert. (3 stars).

If I had one word to describe this club it would be... EXCLUSIVE.They have the best annual Independence Day (4th of July) firework show! It also has a very nice golf course and tennis courts and I'm sure a great pool and restaurant. We looked into joining, until we called and found out that the initiation dues are $90,000, plus an annual fee... Negative Ghost Rider...the pattern is full. At this point, we'll continue to watch the fireworks on the hill like the other 1000+ folks on the 4th of July and be grateful some folks pay the dues so us common folks can enjoy the view.

I've been here several times with my family, and I'm always so impressed. However, last week was my first time to eat lunch here, and I just thought it was wonderful. I had such a hard time choosing what I wanted, because it all looked so good. First, I had to choose between the buffet, which was filled with fresh fruits and veggies, homemade rolls, prime rib, and all the makings of a seriously beautiful salad. I ended up ordering from the menu, and even that was difficult, because there were so many delicious choices. I wanted the Cobb, I wanted the chicken tender salad, but in the end I won by ordering a beautiful shrimp and avocado salad that was perfect for my Whole30 diet. I loved every bite, and I cheated a bit and ate some of the pita that came with it. Our server Ever was wonderful, and took excellent care of us. I was also here for my niece's 5th birthday party, a Frozen thing extravaganza. There were so many darling touches, from an ice sculpture to a lovely veggie display featuring Olaf. They went above and beyond and all the children loved it. Actually, come to think of it, the adults did too!

My family has been a member of ROCC since the early 90s. I'm a big fan, especially given the recent renovations. Specifically, the pool area has been completely modernized to include a massive outdoor bar and four swimming pools including a slide. The fitness area has also been updated and moved from the tennis complex to the back buildings, near the golf course. Finally, the golf course underwent massive renovations a few years ago as well. The service here is wonderful and the staff is friendly. I loved coming here as a kid and I'm sure I will bring my family here in the future.

I attended 'Cupcake Camp Dallas' here a few weeks ago and I could not have been more impressed. Unfortunately, I didn't get to play a round of golf or swim in their gorgeous pool, but the staff was very friendly and super helpful... especially the guard at the gate. I only wish I lived in Dallas so I could belong to this country club. It's incredibly beautiful, both inside and out, and the greens that I could see from the street were well-manicured and absolutely perfect. Hope I have the chance to visit again!

It's very low class to call and sell solicited vendorship. And to be rude on the phone on top of it... Very inappropriate.
