Ask your waiter to get parking validated. I didn't have to pay the parking fee since I was just a restaurant guest. Inside of the Gaylord Resort is really pretty! I was lost at first, but go inside the resort and follow the signs to the Riverwalk. The complementary chips and salsa were fantastic. However, the rest of the food was decent, but not the best I've had. The queso fundido dip was smaller than the queso dips I've had at other restaurants. There was a higher ratio of other "non-cheese" components like sausage, corn, tomatoes, etc. while it tasted good, i don't think it was worth the price. Next, while the birria al pastor sounded intriguing, I wasn't blown away by the dish. The flavors were okay. While it was a unique concept, I don't think it beats traditional birria tacos. The pineapples were a bit overpowering as well.Overall, this place is really gorgeous! Our customer service was great too.

In the Gaylord Resort for a conference and popped in for breakfast. I was seated right away and the service greeted and took my drink order immediately. She also recommended a couple items, one being the breakfast tacos. Let me tell you delicious! Three tortillas overflowing with eggs, steak, and trimmings. A side of potatoes and salsa also in the entree. A bit pricey for three tacos ($24) but expected at a resort.

Are you ready for the 411? Here we go...I am in Texas for a conference and staying at the Gaylord Texas which is beautiful! I visited Cantina on Thursday night for a quick bite and it was a great experience. The place was alive with music and the staff was attentive to say the least. The meal I had which was the Street Corn was absolutely delicious. For a late night meal, it was neither too light or too heavy! Also had an Amaretto sour which was perfectly made. Have been a great experience thus far at the Gaylord Texan!

I was surprised with how low this place of rated on here. I had a lovely experience. This is located within the Texan Gaylord hotel and is one of the only options for food before five p.m. The restaurant is beautiful and I liked the open feel. Service was fast and friendly! When my drink is always full it's a good sign for me. Now the food here is good. Not great or amazing but a solid option for a meal! Appetizers: queso dip, chips and salsa, and Mexican corn. After being seated, I was brought a basket of chips and a side of salsa, which was delicious! The chips recouped very well, and the salsa had the right balance of heat and flavor. To go along with the chips I ordered their queso. It was a very average side. I probably would not order it again. I like real cheese in my queso dip, and this tasted heavily of Velveeta cheese. The street corn, however, was fantastic and I highly recommend. The flavor balance was perfect. The only thing I wish I had more of was limes to add more lime juice but I like a lot of lime flavoring and I understand that not everyone does. I ordered tacos for lunch what I like about this place as you can mix and match the meats, so I have steak and Barbacoa. Out of the two I think the Barbacoa was my preference. The steak was good, but the Barbacoa had really really good flavor.Honestly, a really great stop for lunch. I would happily go there again, but it did not blow me away outside of the street corn. The service really made up for a lot of the food in my rating, great people are working at this location.

This restaurant is right by the indoor pool at the Gaylord Resort. We were looking for a good spot for lunch and thought to check this place out. If you like spicy, ask for the spicy salsa for your chips. The chicken enchiladas were good and that spicy salsa added a nice kick to it. The elote was disappointing because it was watery, the corn wasn't grilled, and it didn't have any flavor. Not sure if I would go back but worth the try.

I admittedly failed as a yelper for this place. I ate here and didn't have my phone so didn't take pictures. I was shocked at how low the reviews are for this. The service was fantastic and the food was crazy good. As a rule of thumb I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food. To me in general it's pretty much all the same. However this place really stood out. The steak fajitas were delicious. A large part of this was the poblano sauce which our waiter recommended. That took good to great. I would highly recommend this place with its unique setting in the Gaylord. Please don't be discouraged by poor reviews it is worth a trip.

Here for a convention, first night we decided on Mexican at the resort. Prices were fair. I ordered beef Enchiladas 3 per order, sauce was dried on the tortilla tasted good. The beef on the other hand was hard to cut (it was shredded but knife could cut through. Came with refried black beans and Spanish rice. The rice wasn't cooked all the way through still crunchy. ($19.00)My wife had the Al Pastor Tacos (3 per order) rice and beans. She said they were very salty ($18.00)Started off with Queso Dip ($12.00), was good, bit runny. The chips were the hit, crunchy and tasted great. Seasoning was awesome.

Had such a great dining experience here. I love the outdoor ambiance and how our host accommodated our request to sit right by the river. Every table comes with complimentary chips and individual bowls of salsa. The service was very professional and accommodating. We ordered the shrimp tacos, guacamole, and an appetizer... forgot the name of the appetizer but everything ordered was perfect that we ended up coming here at least twice during our stay.Only complaint is that they close at 9pm while the resort directory says 10pm.

Like some others, I was a bit surprised by the lower rating here, as my experience was pretty good. Was here for a corporate meeting and stopped here for a late lunch right after arriving and had breakfast here the day I left.Servers were friendly and mostly attentive. Only complaint was not getting water refilled very quickly, otherwise took great care of us.The complimentary salsa and chips were quite good and each diner got their own little bowl, so you didn't have to cross dip with anyone. For lunch, I had the chicken tacos and some street corn and treated myself to an adult beverage. Street corn portion was pretty big. Tacos were also enjoyable. When I stopped for breakfast, I had the chilaquiles, which were fantastic. The green salsa was delicious. I also had a glass of grapefruit juice and it was the best grapefruit juice I have ever drank.Seating makes it feel like you're outside, even though you're not, and it's fun to see the fish swimming around in the "river".
