I have wanted to try this restaurant for several years and just hadn't made it there until tonight. I was served a couple of pieces of complementary fresh braked bread slices with olive oil and basil. After looking at the menu, I was torn between the Pepperanota Di Salsiccia sausage and peppers pasta entrée and having a pizza. I chose the pizza as I had seen pictures of their pizza and it looked great. I chose the Macellaio "The Butcher" pizza and added onions to it. This is a bit over the max number of ingredients you would ever want to put on a Neapolitan-style pizza! The pizza was cooked just right and all of the toppings looked fresh and rustic cut and pinched fresh mozzarella were spread around. This is probably one of the best Neapolitan pizzas I've had in a very long time! Everything about it was so flavorful especially the crust and Italian sausage. After telling my waiter Tony, how fantastic the pizza was and that it was my first time eating there he brought me a complementary dessert, tiramisu cake. The cake was great and not overly sharp with liqueur. I brought home half of the pizza and cake.I will have to go back to try the Pepperanota Di Salsiccia sausage and peppers pasta.

First visit here and it was a nice, quiet place in Southlake. It was hard to find the front entrance, buts it's on the far left side of the patio. We enjoyed all of the food options ordered. The fried calamari and arancini balls were great! My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the chicken picatta but substituted the pasta for mashed potatoes. We saw lots of people ordering pizza and the fried calamari. Such a great experience and meal.

:) Lots of love for Restorante Mulino today!:) Shaded patio dining:) BYOB (no uncorking fee; don't forget to ask for a bucket of ice for your white):) Lively atmosphere (nearly full at 5:30 on a Saturday with a mix of families, adult groups, and couples):) Service (it was challe going to catch our server because she was so busy, but she was attentive and helpful) :/ Arancini (I really wanted to like it, but parts of the breeding were overcooked. The rice was Al dente, but gummy. The tomato sauce was bright and delicious. I could eat it by the spoonful!):) Chicken Florentine (special today was delicious and creamy with chicken, mushrooms, and spinach):) Chicken Picatta (wonderful flavor and well-coomed, but the chicken could have been more tender):/ 3.75% credit card feeWe still haven't tried the amazing-looking pizza, so we will be back soon for this!

Wasn't sure what their famous bread and pesto meant but wow, so yummy! I had the eggplant parm for dinner and not only was it filled with flavor but it was HUGE and fed me the next day for lunch as well. Sweet staff when I went in for my to go order and quick service.

I came close to not doing one more review as it occurred to me that I'm not doing myself any favors by making a table any harder to get here than it is now. LOL. But there is one more thing of note I'd like to mention. We shared the Pollo Valdostana this evening. If you read my first review you already know this dish is terrific, but this is what I want to commend the kitchen for... the vegetables. The first time we had this dish we had pasta instead of the vegetables as we know what so many restaurants' vegetables are usually like. In many if not most restaurants vegetables are more often than not just plate fillers, the prep of which in the kitchen is mailed in and shown no great love. The vegetables with this dish consist of sliced carrots, zucchini and green beans. The seasoning it is restrained and delicious. Butter? And the vegetables are cooked perfectly. Soft enough, but with plenty of crunch to render them so very enjoyable. This is a rather rare phenomenon in our experience. Even in some higher end restaurants. This kitchen clearly cares about everything they put on the plate for their guests.

The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere caught me off guard. I expected something more sophisticated, but felt more like small town chic. The place is loud, it's difficult to talk. I would stick to To-Go orders here! Enjoy

We have come here for a very (very) long time. Let's get the negatives out of the way. The acoustics are not so fantastic and it can get really loud in here. Now for the positives. They bring out bread with a pesto style dipping sauce that is out of this world. Every salad we've ever had is fantastic ,highly recommend the eggplant Parm, any pizza is amazing, and the pasta carbonara is very good. It's a woodfired oven, so always asked for extra crispy crust. It's BYOB, which makes a significant difference in your bill, if you drink wine. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is always super kind and accommodating. Just a small Mom and Pop kind of place that is done really well and we could not be happier to eat here.

Marjan and I visited this Richland Hills Italian restaurant two days ago, invited by friends frequenting the eatery. The restaurant is found in a strip center, and parking is not an issue. Unhappily, we found that reservations are not accepted, and one signs a wait list, sitting on queue for the next available table. There are perhaps half a dozen outdoor tables, but the Texas sun was blazing, so we requested next available indoor. We joined the line of patrons fronting the register, doing a slow melt every time the front door opened, pushing a blast of humid air, as we waited for our table. Mulino does not have a liquor license, but guests are welcome to bring their own libations, and happily, the host uncorked one of our bottles for our enjoyment as we waited in line. This is a neighborhood, family style restaurant, with guests in very casual garb, some in shorts and tennis shoes. Not a coat and tie on gentlemen, not dress and heels on women. The restaurant is pleasing, though not opulent in design, with tables and chairs, or bench with chair seating, the room of perhaps 20 tables on waiting. We recall the waitstaff in black and white dress, the tables without cloths. The noise level? Boisterous given the smaller dining space, conversation at times strained. The staff throughout were pleasant, welcoming and very knowledgeable of the menu items. Our table began with the fried calamari, the breading light, the tender mollusk not overdone. The dish was served with tomato sauce and herb ailoi for dipping. The table enjoyed the appetizer. Marjan chose the Salmon Picatta, sauteed fish filet, dressed with lemon wine sauce with capers, sided with garlic mashed potatoes. She enjoyed the dish, but felt the entree lacked exceptional flavor. Another in our party ordered one of the specials, the Lobster ravioli. The dish was also presented with a tomato base sauce, also enjoyable. I ordered another special, their salmon with risotto. This dish was presented with spinach twixt the risotto, and rather than a plank of salmon atop the dish, cuts of salmon were admixed within the depths of the risotto. The sauce was exceptional. Marjan and I considered this the best of the three entrees we ordered. Our impression of this very popular neighborhood eatery is that it offers good Italian fare, comfort food type fare, if one may so describe. The portions are more than generous, not one of us able to finish our entrees, enter "to go" boxes. This is a limited review of only three entree items, our group not availing ourselves of the popular pizza offerings, of the pollo, nor of other offerings of il pesce. We can recommend the restaurant to Yelpers, Marjan giving the eatery 4 boots! Enjoy!!

Man I really wanted to love this place. It has a cozy, local, hole-in-the wall vibe with tight café seating and proximity to the kitchen. Some outdoor seating is available in a narrow space around the outside of the building, a bit close to the parking lot I thought. Service was fine, overall experience fine. But nothing about the food wowed us. I've had better pizza. She's had better pasta. We ordered the Zucchini Fritti (fried zucchini) and it was fine, though we wished the batter was more flavorful. I tried the Pepperoni Pizza, which was well presented but nothing special. Se tried the Frutti Di Mare which after having fallen in love with the the dish in San Francisco, seemed bland. Overall, I think that's how I'd characterize our overall disappointment was the food seems to be short on savory punch. We have found the restaurants in certain parts of Keller overall have been flavor-deficient for some reason. Not sure why that's a thing, but just an observation. Ristorante Mulino is a nice date night location if you don't mind a less savory flavor profile in your Italian food.

I'll likely go back to my favorite. Risotto di Maro is ok. Maybe the chef had a misstep. It was more cheesy than white wine sauce tonight. 2 mussels delivered to table closed. Better other visits. We'll be back. Local favorite and other meals came out better.
