Rio Bravo Tex-Mex

We had a great experience at Rio Bravo. The owners and staff are so kind. They actually took the time to greet you, and made sure that everything was going well with your meal. The salsa with the chips were fresh and homemade. I had a cheese enchilada, taco and chicken enchilada. Perfect comfort food! I thoroughly enjoyed everything. My husband had cheese enchiladas, and he said it was some of the best he's ever had. If you are in the mood for TX-Mex, this cozy restaurant is the place to go to. We will definitely be back.

The food is awful. Margs are limey and not strong. There are at least 10 better tex mex places within a 10 mile radius of this place. If you want taco bell+ come here. If you want below chipotle quality, come here. Otherwise go to Salsa's, El Norte, El Pueblito, Chuy's, Uncle Julio's, Papasito's, etc.

I used to come here a lot when I used to live in Plano, and this area is especially nostalgic for me because I'd order take out in high school. I haven't been back in maybe 5 or 6 years, and it's still pretty good. I got my food really quickly, and I don't think prices are bad. It's a really small restaurant, but it's quite cozy! I always order a small guacamole and enchiladas. I'm a huge fan of how they put larger chunks of tomatoes into the guacamole, and it's well seasoned. I ordered incorrectly this past time and got their sour cream enchiladas, and I wasn't a fan of how dense and rich the sauce was. However, I know that they do have better enchiladas that I've ordered in the past, and I should've ordered those instead. The chicken inside the enchiladas are also really well seasoned and not dry. Their beans are super yummy -- eat it with the rice!I would definitely come again, and I love supporting small businesses. I will say though, I'm not a fan of their political statements on the wall and don't think it's necessary to plaster everywhere. I've read other comments that are slightly bothered by the choice in decor as well, but hey, I'll overlook it. Their food is pretty good for the price.

We might have just found our new fav Mexican restaurant! Everyone was so friendly and grateful for our business. The food was amazing. We got the green chicken enchiladas and the chicken floutas. The music was stellar and the decor was so fun and very Texan. Romero was very knowledgeable and made our experience a 10/10. We will definitely be back!

This place is unique for sure. It's local owned, decorated from the bottom to the top (sometimes in controversial political statements). The inside itself is pretty small with very few tables and a bar. We went on a Friday night for dinner - ordered a couple drinks and plates. It was our first time here and I want to say either the owner or manager definitely made an impression. They must of known my family likes their drinks strong, because after the drinks were served, they came around and poured an extra 2-3 shots into everyone's drink which was funny. My mom got this pineapple margarita type thing and it was pretty huge and had lots of surprise gummies in it.They keep the salsa on deck and even have a spicier salsa you can ask for if that's what you like. In regards to the food, it was decent price and not bad. I will say everything was on the salty side. The taco meat, beans, even the salsa. This was kind of unfortunate because the service was great and the workers are funny, the food prices are there, but the flavor just didn't hit in the right spot when you compare to so many other places. I still will give this place props though! Maybe I'll try again on another day.

Very good food. Food taste authentic and flavorful. The staff is courteous and professional. Very laid back atmosphere. I very much enjoy having lunch here

The food is incredibly good, and the owner is really caring about his customers. I often go in and I'm greeted by name because the owner cares enough that he remembers who comes to his restaurant. This restaurant honestly gives me one of the best experiences I've ever had in a Mexican restaurant. I highly recommend it.

Not bad for what it is. Inexpensive Tex-Mex with decent service. I was teetering between a 3 and 4 because I would call the food average at best but I definitely got a good portion and the bill was not that high so a 4 seemed more fitting. The restaurant itself is layed out rather odd. As soon as you step through the front door, the back of a booth is less than 5 feet from you causing you to walk around it on either side to go to your table. It is a bit messy looking but I didn't overthink it. Just worth noting for those more aware of their surroundings and the decor of an establishment. Overall, not too bad.

Food is on-level with Dairy Queen or Jack in the Box . The male server was rude and actually downright argumentative . This place is nothing special . It could be a cute , cool neighborhood spot , but now I know why this place was EMPTY at lunch - except for our party. Do better !

The food was excellent! I had the carne guisada and my husband had enchiladas. It was authentic mom/pop food. Exactly what we were looking for vs the processed Mexican food. Staff was very nice. Service was fast. Would recommend to anyone.
