It's my wife and I's Wednesday night dinner spot with 1/2 price bottles of wine. Go see Rachel at the bar but don't take our spots!! Oyster menu is off the charts with plenty of options from West to east coast. We've been enjoying their stone crab claws while in season. Thanks to the staff!Paul aand Connie.

This is a really nice spot. As you walk into the restaurant you are greeted at the door by a host who provides menus and seat selection, I chose to eat at the Bar. While walking to the bar there is a display case on your left with all of their fresh seafood they are selling by the pound. Place was busy, nice layout of tables behind the bar. I chose Crawfish Hushpuppies and the Steamer Bowel, absolutely wonderful.Prices are on point, reasonable for the quantity and quality of the seafood. I will be back.

This is clearly a neighborhood favorite as I hear the waitstaff joking with regulars. The lunch menu on a Sunday was really very reasonably priced. I was delighted with the amount of lobster in the Connecticut roll. Gumbo broth was rich. Clean modern ambience.

The food and service were both very good and, unlike most other restaurants, it was not terribly loud.

My third visit to this location of Rex's. My step father loves seafood and we have been here for two lunches and a birthday dinner. The food has consistently been great. The service, not so much. Today it was astoundingly bad. I don't want to put it all on our waiter, as it took 45 minutes + for our entrees to be delivered...and the restaurant was at most, half full. As we waited incessantly, my tea was empty for 15 minutes, despite the waiter coming by and recognizing it should be filled. Worst of all, at the end of the meal I asked for a box as I intentionally left half my meal to take for dinner. Our waiter offered to package it for me, but later advised that it had inadvertently be thrown away. This was a $30+ lunch entree. The waiter said the chef was willing to cook a half portion for me to take home, but at that point it was nearing a 2 hour lunch. Another 45 minutes was not an option. Ugh.

Love the energy the minute we walked in the door! Nice options for seating even though it was very busy! The Kusshi oysters from BC, I highly recommend them. John's fish and chips were good but lots of fried bits to make it look like a big plate? Not sure who would eat that much fried oil. Anyway, the fish was great! Very plump with fish and crispy! John enjoyed it. We like the Rex's at the Market but this was our first time here and the service was great!

The appetizer special jumbo crab and avocado was off the charts!!! The calamari was lovely, not a heavy coating delicious. The blackened wild king salmon definitely will return for all the above. Friendly and caring service, great music. TV's at the bar if that's your thing. 5 plus stars

Really liked the clean and open ambiance. Service by Semiha was great. Once we got her to laugh she relaxed. She was very attentive and let us set the pace (initially asking for entree orders before our drinks or apps arrived). Drinks were very slow to come from the bar, but assuming that was not her fault. She gave us good recommendations and well-timed service the rest of the night. Rex's is not cheap, but not terribly high priced either. Specials were pretty high, however.Food was fresh and excellent. Definitely recommend the crab hushpuppies as a starter. Calamari was ok but I would not order again. I did not care for the heavy cornmeal breading (overpowered the calamari) or the dipping sauces. Highly recommend the grouper with sauteed spinach - fresh and delicious grouper (spinach was very good, but some was not sauteed). Fish and chips were enjoyed (very large portions), as were the fried shrimp.Only real negative was again the bar speed and why are you charging $2 for ice on a bourbon on the rocks? Finally, I just don't like them providing suggested tips that are calculated including the government tax. I will tip what I want, but don't try and fool people who won't look at it closely. This whole over tipping requirement is distasteful.

I've been to Rex's probably about 20 times. Tonight was the first time I was "meh" about my dinner - the swordfish special. Not as tender as it's been in the past. No big deal really, this happens. I was wondering if I should mention it in passing (certainly not returning it) when the server did a check-back but there was no check-back. As a server myself at high-end places my entire life, this was a disappointment. Waiting tables 101: ALWAYS do a check-back. It was not that busy when I was there (unusual for them). So I felt like I, as a single diner, was just not important to them. A disappointing visit. But I still love the place. And will still recommend it.

Best oyster selection I've had in Dallas. Service was amazing as well. The board special I ordered was just so so.
