I had a great time here! It was awesome to come here for a Juneteenth concert, they allow you to bring blankets to lay on or lawn chairs BUT, this place seriously needs to be sprayed in the summer for mosquitoes. Even with bug spray I was bit up from head to toe and left early. Let's talk positives: SpaceVendor sectionLots of lawn areaAbility to get close to talent - front stage Great parking options - close to venue entryOnly negative was bugs - lots of them: but that's a given outdoors. What would help is to treat the area before events is all I'm saying. I had to leave early due to the bites being too much. After night time, it got intense. Nonetheless enjoyed myself!

I had no idea this little gem of an amphitheatre was hidden away in Plano, right on Spring Creek. It butts up to a nature preserve, so it's nice and quiet... until the music starts :)My dad first stumbled on to this place about 4 years ago when there was a Beatles tribute night: 3 Beatles tribute bands. One night. Here, at the Plano Stages Amphitheatre. Ever since then, we've gone pretty much every year. While their concert calendar is extremely limited, if any of the events sound interesting, I highly recommend you check it out. This place is really cool. Parking on either side of the amphitheatre is totally free, and tickets are cheap! If you come out and join us for the Beatles night, buy your tickets ahead of time. They've sold out the past couple years (we only barely got tickets 2 years ago). Inside, they have some food available for purchase (burgers, hot dogs, sodas, etc)... But the really awesome thing is that you can bring your own! Roll in your cooler with whatever floats your boat: We usually do sandwiches, but we've seen everything from fried chicken buckets from KFC to fancy wine and cheese plates. And yes, you can BYOB into the amphitheatre. Bring in your favorite lawn chair (the ones that fold up are the easiest to manoeuver) and your favorite snacks and beverages... and prepare to have fun! Get there early to stake out the best spot. And I will fight you if you try to take the spot my dad and I always get.For some reason, they haven't had the same Beatles tribute bands (read: cover bands) every year. The first couple years, they had American English, a band out of Chicago, who has elaborate costume changes, etc. The second couple years, they had Hard Night's Day (whom I LOVE and am friends with on Facebook), a local Dallas Beatles tribute band who've been at it for years now. They played a really really good show a couple of years ago, and even ended it with some non-Beatles music which was unexpected and fun. This year they had Me and My Monkey, whom I'd never seen before. Due to work schedules and generally being busy, we didn't get to go this year. I think this venue is available for rental. All of the info for that is on the city of Plano's website. Hopefully, the concert series they'll do next summer is going to be good. I wish they'd extend the season and do some more bands. I know I'd be there! It's a lot of fun for the whole family--- at the Beatles events, there are people in attendance ranging from a year old to 60+. Super awesome time.
