Enjoyed my first drive through experience to see Christmas lights. I loved the walk thru experience where it gave me an opportunity to take some pictures.

We've been going since my husband I started dating back in 2015. Years later, we are married, and have two girls. We go every year and love it. Are the lines long to get it, yes. Get dinner before you go, charge tablets, and prepare to wait and enjoy the family time in the car.

So much fun! Toss the family in the truck and head on out to Grand Prairie for the Prairie Lights! It's a drive through Christmas lights show - $50 per passenger vehicle. You can buy your pass online or in person (you can also get a fast pass if you don't want to wait in line). Santa is on site, plus they have snacks and hot chocolate, and a small walk through forest. Go to prairie lights.org for status and hours, as they might change.

Don't go! Not worth 2+ hour wait. They need to fix the waiting issue and not do it with a $100+ fast pass. Ripoff service. You can go to other places to see better lights for free!

I cant believe I did not write a review for this place! Ok so here is my review and an update on that review. Located in Grand Prarie by Joe Pool Lake Prarie lights is conveniently located for both Tarrant and Dallas County. This set of Christmas light displays is a drive-through style with a santa village where you can get out of your car and purchase food and drinks along with taking pictures with Santa. There is also a walk-through light display in that area for picture opportunities. After that you get back in your car and drive back towards the exit where the big final of the tunnel of lights is waiting for you. They are open rain or shine unless severe weather like tornados etc are expected but they open at 6pm so come early if you are planning on stopping by on the weekend. You can go on their FB page for park opening times/delays. You can purchase tickets online to speed up the admissions process but you can also buy them when you get there. The price goes up if you go on the weekend but is cheaper and faster if you go on the weekday. A lof of the comments here complains about waiting hours but thats because they most likely went during the weekend when it was closer to Christmas. When I went back in 2021 it was on a weekday 3 weeks before Dec 24. Limo/shuttle/van is $150 this year 2022. Regular cars/pickup are $50. Busses are $200 general admissions. Once inside they ask you turn off your headlights and drive very slow to enjoy the lights. I think they had a lot of variety for the theme of the lights. Example one section would have the 12 days of christmas, another section had sci-fi Christmas, another section had all snowman, one section they had the manora for those who celebrate Hanuka. I recommend putting on a Christmas holiday playlist in your car and purchasing hot chocolate from a coffee house prior to coming or even better make your own and bring it along. If you have a truck you can have people sitting in the bed of the truck as long as everyone is seated and an adult is with them. Also, life hack, they have a cyber monday sale every year where you can purchase a regular admission ticket for a discoun and use all season long. When i went online and bough my ticket i did not spend more than 35 or 40$ for a weekday admission but do keep in mind the price goes up for the weekend.Ok so here is where my 'updated' review comes in. Knowing what I know now, I have been eagerly waiting for their cyber monday deal to come through because I noticed that for this year 2022 they are charging $50 for a regular car admission! $50!!!! That is a big jump in price compare to last year. They charge more if you are driving a limo or a bus so I get that but this is for a family car! Yikes... so with the cyber deal I was hoping it be closer to 25-30$ and when I went to their social media I saw that it was $35. I saw the comments complaining about the fine print I had to pause and do a double-take.The cyber Monday deal went up on Monday, November 28 for $35 admission for a car from Now (mon November 28) till Thursday, December 1, 2022, that only gives you 4 days to redeem this deal and go out to see the lights. That is not enough time! That is ridiculous! They limited the date of use which make me think they dont take into consideration the working families. How do they expect people to drop everything and go with one week's notice! Last year I know they let you buy the cyber deal and go all of the 2021 season they were open. So even though you get a discount on admission to prarie lights it puts you on a time crunch to come in. In my opinion these lights are better compare to the ones at the Texas Motor speedway by 1-location and 2- the walk through light display at santas village. Now seeing how much prarie are charging I can go twice to the Texas motor speedway one or go once during the weekend. But my favorite light display will always be the interlochen light display in Arlington Tx and its always free! Find my review of them on yelp as well. In the end only you know whats best for your family so keep in mind

What a very enlightening experience. LOL. We went on a rainy night so otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. We skipped the middle part so I cannot comment on that part. Price is good if you take a car full of people. We had 4 grownups so just slightly cheaper than the price of movie tickets. The lights were fantastic. Exceeded expectations. There design team must be first class.

Drivers pro tip: COAST so your brake lights are not on the whole time, also turn your headlights off! It is a light show after all On the weekends, expect a 2 hour wait! They have officers directing traffic and they tend to let the longest line to get into the park wait the longest, adding to the time in line. Traffic control could be a lot better. There were times the longest line was waiting 30 minutes to move, when the flow should be more even. Once in the park, it is so worth it!! I posted lots of photos of the 5 different themes they had throughout the park. They also change it up every year!!I included a photo of the pricing as well. Cars and trucks are $30.This was my first time and im so excited to come back.

Easy to get tickets, easy to find. Large amounts of lights with a nice break in the middle for kids- shopping, food, drinks, games, rides and a walk through trail of lights.

They need to figure out entry . Not worth the wait time in traffic. Your post needs 85 words or more, OK coming to Grand Prairie Lights isn't worth.

We just went there yesterday 12/10/2023 and I definitely recommend.I will start a small con that I'm sure all drive through Christmas lights have , the wait. I suggest getting there at least 30min before opening (6pm ) and wait in line because the lines are long. The lights were amazing, not too much but enough, they have a place with free rides for smaller kids and a huge tent with hot cocoa, food and sit down tables. The food was good and fresh prices reasonable. There is another walk through park with beautiful lights and then when you leave (drive off) the tunnel with lights. Along the way there are employees that keep the line going. The price this year is $50/car.Have fun!
