Prairie House Restaurant - Lewisville

Food was mostly good, service was terrible. The brisket queso had an "off" flavor and the table consensus was they scorched it when cooking it. Even though we didn't see any burned cheese, it's had that scorched milk flavor throughout. One person's steak was overcooked, the other was fine. The catfish was really delicious and a huge portion size for the price. The majorly bad thing was the service. I don't know the servers' name, but she was the only waitress working the outside tables at 12pm on Saturday 10/12/24, and dark hair. She disappeared for long stretches of a time and we had to ask her multiple times for each item. Napkins. Drinks. To-go boxes. Everything required at least two asks. When she handed us a stack of to-go boxes and we took three, she pointed out we had had only requested two and the others were for another table. I'm sorry, but why didn't you just hand us what we asked for? I'm sure the other table appreciated our fingers all over their to-go boxes as well. She never bussed any plates, not ever, despite the fact we ordered three appetizers and the table was getting full before entrees. In the end, we moved all our dirty plates to another table and she ignored it, walking past it empty handed as she returned to the kitchen instead of using the opportunity to fill her hands as most servers would do. It was my mother's birthday and we asked if they did anything special, to which we got a curt "nope." Our outside table was sticky from sap and bird poop, which is understandable, but we had to ask twice to get a rag and then had to clean it ourselves. To top it all off she added gratuity to our table of 7, so I didn't get the opportunity to give my feedback via a reduced tip, which was certainly warranted. It's a shame but everyone at the table said they would not go back unless it was for the catfish.

Prairie House Restaurant in Old Town Lewisville is undeniably a beautiful location, with its charming atmosphere adding to the appeal. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by underwhelming service and food that didn't quite live up to expectations.We tried the cheeseburger and the filet. While the filet was tender and cooked to our liking, it lacked the robust flavor we hoped for. The cheeseburger meat was similarly bland; I found myself needing to use all the condiments available to make it more enjoyable. While the setting is lovely, the food and service could use some improvement to match the ambiance.

A great staple in the bustling old town Lewisville! We came in having no clue that this place was also owned by the people at Elm Fork in Hickory Creek, which we love. Food was well seasoned and had a homemade feel but elevated! Only downside was ran out of cornbread which we were craving, but tried the Bandidos, 10000% recommend!! Jalapeño is not too spicy and a unique take on stuffed jalapeños.

I ordered the sliced brisket and chicken. The brisket was ok, nothing special. The chicken was absolutely terrible. I didn't eat it. Sides were boring and average. Our server was attentive. The atmosphere was unique and interesting.

The ribs and brisket were a generous portion- juicy and gone as tasted so good. The green beans were cooked with onions-very tasty. The texas beans were baked beans with yummy seasoning. Delish.Note-we had a large group and the private meeting room was perfect-great service. They had menus with choices, pens to circle choices, and the table/seat noted on the menu for the servers reference-brilliant! SummaryGreat local bar b que restaurant. If you have a group-meet here. A very nice little hidden away place in Lewisville They've got a wide array of appetizers, meal combos & bbq selections & steaks. We came in on as n early Saturday night with live entertainment by Isaac. A very local & personable guy from Denton. He played a lot of cool & smooth country western songs. Got my Eagles, Take it Easy & well worth the 2 blond beers I had with dinner! Wifey & I enjoyed the ambiance and old mill converted into a restaurant & bar. With outdoor dining if you wish. Staff was very cool & customer service was tops. We loved it & want to take the family out here soon! Plenty of parking & very casual!

We had a great time at our whiskey pairing. The food was amazing, compliments to Fallon . She really made the evening special.

Very nice restaurant in a little walking area. The food is delicious and very reasonable price. The portion is huge with delicious taste and texture. Very nice deco inside and great customer service!

Located in downtown Lewisville, Tx. The atmosphere was very comfortable making the experience enjoyable. Our waiter was very attentive and provided great recommendations, not necessarily recommending the most expensive items on the menu, but the items he enjoyed. I had the Chicken Fried Chicken, and my guests had the Prime Rib and Chicken Fried Chicken. All of us enjoyed our meals. The fried okra was very good.I thought the Prairie House Restaurant was a good value and good dinner experience.
