Painting with a Twist

Talk about a good time. The staff here knows how to have fun and are very helpful with creating a picture perfect image. If you've never painted, never copies a drawing, now worries because you will have plenty of assistance. You may even just have such a good time with your group or with your partner that the experience alone will be a joy. Next to the garland Nicholson memorial library, in the heart of downtown Garland. This is a byob event, you can preselect the picture advertised you want to paint , or on special request you can paint whatever you may like. Canvas sizes and prices may vary but very affordable for your own perfected work of art. Great location and great staff.

Came here as a big group for the open studio event (where we can choose any artwork we like). I chose the 16x20 canvas which I didn't realize was that big! We all had a blast and especially being able to bring our own food and drinks was great! Jennifer our instructor was amazing and so patient! She taught us all techniques to help us, helped us rectify our mistakes and for some even help finish their paintings! It was definitely a fun event to go with your girlfriends for and I'm hoping I'll return soon too!

My coworkers and I went to Painting With A Twist for our quarterly Team Building. We had so much fun! We painted a pumpkin scene. The instructors Jennifer and April, were great. Very encouraging and gave clear directions. They played fun music everyone liked and we all left with our paintings. This was a great team experience because we all encouraged each other and laughed like crazy. I hope we do this again!

I love going to PWAT Garland!! The crew there is very friendly and helpful. The first time I went TO THIS LOCATION I was nervous because I had a bad experience at another location. Jen was great at answering my questions and the instructor April (I think) helped me EVERY TIME I needed guidance. I love the atmosphere. I recommend this location to all my friends and family!

First time at this location and I loved it!! We had my friends birthday event here and it was so much fun. We had our own private room, we were able to bring cocktails & listen to our own music. I didn't have high hopes on how my artwork would come out because I'm so bad with drawing/painting (anything of that sort), but our instructor was awesome and she was patient with everyone and helped anyone who wanted to "perfect" their painting. I would def. book another event with this location. I wish I remembered the instructor's name :(

Went today for my birthday. Took my two daughters and sister. We had a good time but the instructor went very fast and left the room multiple times for long periods. So at time we just sat there not knowing what to do. She said in the beginning of the class that she was gonna walk around and help and answer any questions we had. That never happened. She went so fast my daughters and myself were lost. We never done this before and it was confusing. By the time we finished one step she was already on the 5th step! We used very dark colors and it was so hard to see the permanent marker so my daughter ended up just painting whatever she wanted. Not sure if I will ever go back. My daughters heard the class next door and she was definitely taking her time and helping the kids in there.

My wife took me here for a Father's Day Surprise Date and we both had a blast. Very fun environment and they walk you through the painting process. with their help anyone can come out with a master piece!great Idea for Couple's Date Night, group event or someone wanting to become a part of a group. Everyone is a part of the large group/class, no one feels "left out" the staff does a great job.

These ladies are simply fabulous. My entire family spent New Year's Eve painting with a bit of wine (adults of course). The kids had a blast in one room while we hung with the adults in the other.I'm no painter but the instructor gave great direction and she was super patient. Picked up a frequent painter card because we will be back for sure.

Straight lines aren't my friend. Don't ask me to draw one, walk one or, god forbid, paint one. So while I was excited about my girls afternoon out at a painting place, I didn't hold any high hopes for whatever I produced. I was pleasantly surprised, however, and my "masterpiece" now hangs in the wall of our guest room.The painting space was surprisingly large and the staff were amazing. We had a private party, (available for groups of 10 or more.) Everything was well organized, with the paints laid out and waiting for us. We brought wine and chocolate and they supplied cups and ice. The part that surprised me the most was the class itself. I was expecting something that was pretty much paint by number. When I saw a completely blank canvas I was a bit scared. Our instructor took us through it step by step, not just telling us what to paint, but giving us tips on technique. She's an amazing artist away from work - we asked and were shown photos of the unbelievable artwork she'd done herself.I'd also heard stories from a friend who'd gone to a different place and dared to be different and was met with disdain from the instructor when she quite literally painted outside the lines. That couldn't be further from what happened here. There were 11 of us total and we had 11 very different paintings, despite all using the same colors and going off the same model/instructor. The employees there were very excited to see how we each put our spin and actively encouraged us to "branch out." (Our painting was of a tree...see what I did there...!)I will never support myself via my art, but I learned that I enjoyed the calm that comes from painting. I'd return here in a heartbeat. Our group is already planning our return with the guys...when they saw our paintings and heard our stories they got jealous and now they want their turn!

Wow, what fun! My friend and I recently celebrated her birthday here. We had a blast. We loved the paint pour class. We began by choosing a couple of different colors, I chose darker colors :) James, the instructor demonstrated some strategies and then he gave us the space to create our own art. Kudos to James for providing a fun and creative atmosphere. I highly recommend Garland Painting With a Twist.Thank you for the great memories!
