I've been going here since I was a kid. The Packing House is a nice place to go for all of your wholesale needs. Their meats aren't bad, the service is speedy, and the actual store/ambiance is decent....I mean it's in like a warehouse.

We came here and loaded up on oxtails and turkey necks for thanksgiving. The service was not bad I was served in a timely manner and my meat was cut to my liking. Price wise was perfect. There's places out there that won't overcharge you for oxtails because the price nowadays is ridiculous. I was able to get almost double what I would get at my local supermarket so it's worth the drive coming here. Go early to avoid the lines and crowd.

Don't let the area deter you from stepping inside! The Packing House has been around since forever and definitely part of South Dallas's history. The meat is normally cheaper than the supermarket. However, other items in the store are overpriced. Forever my go-to for summer sausage and cheese!

This place is alright if you're looking for the norm, but out of the norm they make no provisions. I wanted some chicken skins, they couldn't make this one time request happen. I turned to them because their ad said that they were a old fashion meat market with hard to find items, trying to find chicken skin is hard to find. But one thing they do stand behind is their customer service. They have a friendly staff, if they don't have something they have a nice way of telling you what they don't have it., and that's all I got to say bout that.

Unfortunately I had to update my review to give this location one star because they sold me tainted cold cuts with raw chicken juice all over it and I've recieved food poisoning. For the past week my stomach has been heaving, ive had runny stool and feeling nauseous. I know it was the cold cuts that their stupid worker grabbed with the same gloves he used to grab raw pieces of chicken. I saw him. He did not change his gloves until I brought it to his attention. I was shocked that he did not have enough sense to change his gloves after touching the raw poultry which was wet and dripping with juice. He put the raw chicken juice all over the cold cuts and the pork and beef and everything he was touching. Even after he had thrown away, at my suggestion, the cold cuts pieces at the top he had touched, I could not determine which pieces under this had the chicken juice. So I decided to simply heat the meat. And I am still so damn sick. The guy was a complete idiot and I'm thinking this place did not train its workers on preventing cross contamination. I feel like reporting my illness to the health department. I am so furious.

One of the BEST places in south Dallas for meat. Today I picked up oxtails, pork chops, links, hog maw, thick cut bacon with the rind, hog head cheese & summer sausage. They also have thick cut t-bones, center cut & boneless chops, fresh ground beef & other stuff.

If I have to stay in my house for 1 - 2 years, you darn well better believe by the end of this, I will have become the Black male version of "Julia Child". I want to cook all the comfort foods I grew up with and make said foods compatible with a nutritious diet. I have heard about this place ALL MY LIFE. Now that I have time on my hands, let's go! 1. Easy to get to - right off MLK. 2. Know what you want - Read some reviews and know what you want. I came for the the Oxtails. I will be back for the steaks, chops, sausage, and thick cut bacon with the rind. 3. Wait patiently - there could be a line 4. Go home and enjoy your MEAT. Slap that meat on the counter and get to work!

I have read other reviews and I can't help but wonder if we were at the same place Or if I was just there on a bad day. This was by far the most unprofessional nastiest meat market I've ever been to in my life! The guy behind the meat counter that was attempting to help me OMG! he was on his cellphone, talking LOUD, on speaker phone cursing (as so was the person he was talking to. He was trying to talk to me and them at the same time, his phone disconnected twice, he reconnected and tried to use his headset unsuccessfully then used the same dirty, nasty gloves to handle the meat. His mask was below his nose, he was not paying attention to what I was asking for, continued laughing, talking and cursing ON SPEAKER PHONE I was so dumbfounded by what I was witnessing I just walked out, not to mention.....the meat looked old and dried out. If you had a better experience then good for you, however my experience WAS A DAMM SHAME !!

These guys are the best! They work hard for the DFW area. People come from all over for meat products! The customers are also friendly. I usually keep small bills for the people hanging out. I let them carry my packages for me.
