Outpost 36

I came here for a private Christmas party and had a wonderful time. Outpost 36 is spacious with an indoor and outdoor section. The staff were warm, inviting and brought out the food/dessert in a timely fashion. The pulled pork and brisket were tender, flavorful and paired well with their spicy barbecue sauce (which isn't spicy in my opinion). The potato salad was savory and mustardy which I like and their homemade bread was yummy. Their Mac and cheese which I found out is smoked with Gouda cheese was delicious. For dessert we had to get their banana pudding which was delicious. I'm grateful I got to try multiple things on their menu and look forward to returning.

First time trying this spot, Friday night at 730pm...usually a bad idea for BBQ since they run out of things. Place was fairly packed, appeared most tables were done, just hanging out. Board showed they were out of several items (ribs, chicken, sausage) so I had some concerns about what was left... Attendant advised still had lots of brisket, burnt ends and turkey. I went for the turkey and a side of mac n cheese.Took a seat and waited for buzzer to indicate food was ready to be picked up. It took a little while to prep food, not an issue, just not like most BBQ spots where you leave the counter with your food after paying.Turkey was (still) juicy and had a good smokey flavor. Not over the top smokey, just right honestly. Mac n cheese was excellent. It's thick, but it was very good.I wasn't overly hungry going in, so the turkey was perfect for this visit. I will be back and look forward to the brisket and ham next time.

Me and the little woman decided to try this place. Overall friendly staff and nice looking place. We shared a meal of Sausage and Brisket. Unfortunately both meats were cold to the touch and as such had congealed fat on them making it quite nasty. Neither of us cared for the potato salad or coleslaw just wasn't what we were expecting flavor wise. We did mention the meat was cold to the staff but they didn't seem to care or offer to warm it up. They just wanted to sell us a t-shirt. Anyway really dissatisfied and was a on the pricey side for BBQ.

The ambiance is nice and staff is friendly but the food was below average for the price. I visited here with my dad. The food was cold and flavorless. My sides were even cold. The only side hot was the baked potatoes and it was over cooked. I arrived around 1:30 p.m. on a Saturday. I may give them a second try time

Great portions ! Large interior seating area!! Smoked steak was delicious and tender. The fries were not hot but they do like skinny fries at times. Prefer fresh cut with skins on like Sammy's. The rest were all great. This is our third time to come.Food comes out fairly quickly and employees friendly.

Overall we had a good meal here although I think we like their other property a little better. I had smoked filet mignon and bacon burnt ends with green beans. My family also had turkey and ribs and ham plus fries and green beans and beans. Everything we had was good and the portions were large (we have almost a whole meal each to bring home). The staff was really nice and the restaurant was very clean. I think we would like it for takeout probably a bit more than eating in but we had a nice meal!

I'm a big fan of Horizon 76 and I was excited to try their new barbecue restaurant out. It didn't disappoint and we left knowing we'd be back soon. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The service was great and the server who brought out my husband's tray actually insisted on getting a new bowl of Mac and cheese because she said it didn't look like it was warm enough. That's some proactive service! I tried the smoked turkey, pork ribs, and brisket - all were delicious. My stepson said the pulled pork was really good. The Mac and cheese is rich and creamy and I love their green beans that have a little bacon in them. The restaurant has plenty of seating and we were there when they were still busy after lunch rush. They have a bar you can sit at and order as well. Overall, a 10/10 experience!

The food always tastes great! They give you a hearty amount is well worth the price! They have two private rooms and do catering. Very nice atmosphere and great service.

Our first time dining here. The place is big & clean looking. Good menu options. Had the smokehouse burger & okra & smoked brisket tacos. All tasted very good. It's not a burger you can eat with your hands though. You need a fork & knife. Our only complaint is...all the food was very greasy. Not sure what type of oil they use but I sure hope it's beef tallow and not toxic seed oils.
