Ooh Wee Latrece

I think I may have found a diamond in the rough.Came here one Sunday after church on a whim and I was very happy with the food. I had the smothered pork chop with greens and cabbage (don't judge me for two veggies). I felt like someone's grandma was cooking the food in the back because of how good it was.Food was served in a to go container even though I was dining in but that is more of a FYI than a complaint.Background music was good, definitely had some toe tapping head bobbing moments.While things started out not great because I went there to have Jamaican food but found out that the menu changes frequently so next time I'll call before going to see if they are serving Jamaican but even if they aren't I'm sure they'll have something on the menu for me to eat.

I finally made it to latrece's. It had no flavor. It tasted like something you would expect to find in a nursing home.

I just tried to go here at 3:30 pm, Friday, August 30, 2024 and it's not opened yet. However, Google states it opens at 3:00pm. I drove from Forney in that horrible traffic and the restaurant is not open. Very disappointing....

Please do not get my rating wrong!!. The food is absolutely amazing!! The meatloaf is very delicious with the mac n cheese and collard greens. Highly recommend!!! My only complaint is every time I go there, they are always closed. I'm not sure what their REAL hours of operation are but it is VERY inconsistent especially on Google. I've called several times and nobody answered the phone or is at the shop. So I would call ahead before making the drive so you don't waste your time. Another complaint is they run out of food options very quickly so you may not get what you want.

I really liked Ooh Wee Latrece! I came in on rainy day right before Thanksgiving and everyone was so sweet and accommodating! Great options as far as food...all of my soul food favorites like collard greens, cabbage, black eyed peas, pork chops, fried chicken...ALL the good stuff. Do not leave without the Peach Cobbler!!Latrece is an absolute sweetheart and I met her brother also, his name escapes me but he was very nice as well :-) Latrece is very passionate about cooking and I could tell from her conversation that she loves working with her hands which is awesome...Now my mouth is watering....I'm on my way back! LOL

Fresh, Delicious, and wonderfully made Jamaican soul food! I had the crispy seasoned fried chicken, Mac n cheese and black eyed peas... nothing disappointed in any of itMy wife had the jerk oxtails yams and greens. Haven't heard her that quite at dinner in quite some time (yum yum yum). As others have reported, service is a little slow.. BUT GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT! Well worth it.

15,000 stars! Excellent food and service. High quality food. If you don't go here--you are missing out. Nothing else like it.Home cooking. The greens were perfect. Cabbage was wonderful! Meat cooked to perfection.All the love is here!So comfy!

I don't recommend this restaurant. I witnessed two members of the staff treat a customer with the most disrespect I have ever seen from anyone. The owner, (as she called herself), was yelling and cursing while claiming God's blessing in her own life. I don't think the customer is always right, but in this case I don't care what the problem was, the way she spoke to the customer was inexcusable. My wait was 2 hours during a slow time and my order was incorrect. The food was definitely not worth the risk of their wrath.

Her food was so good!!!! I had the smoothed pork chops with the green beans and yams and I didnt leave a thing on my plate!! My husband had the oxtails and he loved them!!! He called her and said oooh weee Latrece lol she's is a hidden gym!!

We stopped by here after making a wrong turn nearby. This was a happy accident- the food was amazing! We got the chicken tenders and Jamaican patties. Everything was fried to perfection, and tasted incredible. We'll definitely be back for more!
