Northlake Cafe

This place is so warm and inviting! I love their wraps; they're like a combination of a wrap and a burrito. The servers are friendly, and they have weekday specials. It is crowded on weekend mornings, especially after church. However, the high quality and flavorful food is definitely worth the wait!

Eight months later, the restaurant continues to have service problems.A minute after I was seated, a senior staff asked if I had been waited on. When she returned to where the waitstaff were mingling, no one did come to my table at that time. Of course, I did not expect anyone to come by so soon. Eventually, a waitress did come to take my order. Sometime later, an employee placed a large tray with various plates by my table. As he was to serve me those plates, another waitress stopped him and said they were for her table. There were two plates which she could not recognize. I said yes when she asked me if I had ordered those items. Rather than serving me my items, the employee returned the plates to the kitchen. Several minutes later, my waitress came by with those plates.Since it was the Saturday before Christmas, I decided to order the chocolate pancakes listedon their featured chalkboard. When my waitress asked if I wanted two or three, I opted for two. I also ordered sausage. Unfortunately, due to the taste and light color, the patties may have been chicken. After one bite, I decided just to finish the pancakes. Non-beef sausage must be the norm nowadays because, in the past, I would have been warned.

It has been about 2 years since Northlake Cafe opened near my neighborhood. We still enjoy going there for breakfast & lunch. I have tried many items on their menu, but this was the first time I noticed they had eggs Benedict with crabmeat. I got it and really liked it. I thought the Hollandaise was a little heavy, but still tasty. It is pretty large. It comes with 2; English muffin, which you can switch out, crabmeat, avocado and a perfect poached egg. I took one home and it was perfect the next morning for breakfast. And, the hollandaise sauce was also perfect, being in the refrigerator over night made it a little lighter. I like the Cafe' feel of the restaurant. It gives it the right ambiance. Service is usually very good. We have only had to wait a couple of times.

Wife and I went for lunch. Had the West Coast Chicken Salad. They shouldn't call it "chicken salad". It was 90% filler (apples, raisins, other crunchy things) with VERY LITTLE chicken. My wife got the club, and I envied her sandwich. The waitress did bring me a small dish of a tablespoon addition of the salad, but it was just more of the same. Not her fault. I'm not writing the cafe off by any means, but I will be avoiding any "chicken salad" dish.

When we walked in there was no waiting, it was like 10:15 it was crowded, the atmosphere was cute our waiter was friendly, he told us the favorite's on the menu but we ordered the omelettes which you get 1 side and a bread item. The pancakes were thick which I was a little spectacle but actually the butter melted and it was delicious and fluffy. The veggie omelette had a lot of fresh ingredients but didn't really have taste and the potatoes too, you will have to season it which I had too and I understand their are people who can't have a lot of seasonings but I feel sometimes salt and pepper doesn't always make the season to your liking. The downfall was when we were seated they put us in front of the door area and today was still chilly outside I feel they should have put us somewhere else because their was a booth away from the door. I don't realize it until I sat down, I feel when it's cold outside they should not seat people by the door unless they say "I don't mind". That's why they get a 4 from us. Today's date is Saturday, 2/22/2025.

Each time I have been here, the Northlake Café has been hopping. Very busy, and usually a little loud.Typically only a short wait for a table. Servers have been very friendly and attentive. I've enjoyed both breakfast and lunch options here, and food has been consistently good with fair portion size. I will continue to be back!

Chicken salad melt sandwich came with too much mayo. This is the description on the menu on their website - Homemade chicken salad on grilled sourdough with melted cheddar cheese & tomatoes. Note: comes with raisins, grapes, onion, pickles...not a tasty combo especially when smothered in warm mayo.

Excellent breakfast spot! Service was great and we loved the Oceanside (Crab Cakes) Benedict, Berry Dream French Toast, Garden Veggie Omelet, and Hash Browns!

The restaurant is large, open and look is breakfast/lunch. The menu is broad & the food & coffee were well prepared and tasty. Only bad thing I can say is that I had to ask our waitress for a coffee refill. The restaurant was about 1/3 full, but I had a hard time getting anyone's attention.

We've been here 3 times already. We ordered breakfast twice and lunch the last time we were there. It's a cute little place. Food is good and so is the service. We will be back to try more.
