Mr. Cajun’s Daiquiri & Cajun Food

Grabbed the catfish and shrimp combo along with king crab. Best advice I can give is don't mix all 3 sauces. The may taste better if enjoyed separately. Kinda reminds me of as a kid you mix all the sodas and end up with something you can't drink. Just say no!!! Catfish is not good. Not sure why catfish comes looking like some round piece of fried oatmeal raisin cookie. They don't resemble anything like a catfish filet and they taste worst then they look. Outside of that I'm sure this is a great place for Cajun like seafood in this area. Service 4Food 2 Atmosphere 4

Located in front of Kroger on marketplace blvd is Mr. Cajun's restaurant. When I walked in I was warmly greeted by host Dani & the aroma of good food. You'll also find your eyes moving around the room and taking notice of how nicely the interior is decorated. Dani's service was nothing short of exceptional. She was so well informed about the menu and didn't hesitate to tell me which items were most popular - namely the oxtails, seafood boils, ramen boil and other things (which are marketed throughout the space). I still had work to do, so I went rogue and chose the 6pc fried catfish nuggets basket, a turkey neck and the Cajun punch kool aid. Some good things to know: at the moment their drink promotion is 2 kool-aids for $5 vs 1 for $3 and on Wednesday's the turkey necks are only $5.In terms of flavor the catfish nuggets were lacking. I can't ding them too much because from the color of the catfish it seems like they recently changed the grease, which we love, but sometimes that's where the added oomph comes from. Otherwise I suggest a heavier seasoned batter, or to just sprinkle some seasoning on top before it's served. Also, for the approx. 20 minutes I waited I was disappointed when I bit into the fries and realized they were cold. They're known for consistent business so I understand wanting to have certain things premade, however fries should always be made to order because they don't stay hot very long. Now when it comes to the turkey neck and the kool aid, as us people from Louisiana say "CA C'EST BON !" The turkey neck was huuuge and packed with good flavor and spice. If you can't handle heat, leave the turkey neck alone. Dani also let me sample two of their speciality daiquiris before leaving called the Bee Trap and Fat Tuesday. Both were delicious, but for a nice balance of mildly sweet with a kick I'd go for the Fat Tuesday. Overall I rate this a positive experience & will without a doubt be back for more.

This was some of the most unflavored food I've ever had. $67 down the drain. Ordered 20 piece wings lemon pepper & honey hot. The lemon pepper was bad. It wasn't seasoned, it was like black pepper with lemon juice I couldn't believe how bland lemon pepper could taste. I also requested my wings to be well done (extra crispy) and they were the opposite. Very gooey. The honey hot sauce was actually good. Next the turkey necks were pretty good, great size and full of season. Lastly, the Cajun oxtail was by far the nastiest oxtails I've ever had. They literally taste like water. This is the most disappointing restaurant in Forney.

After searching for a place to try some wings I was sadly underwhelmed. I ordered via door dash and The 6 piece with fries is overpriced to not even include a drink. The lemon pepper was mild and the wings were pretty small and mostly soggy. I like the flavor of the fries but they seemed a bit like when you reheat fries in the microwave (they even look that way). I guess I will have to stick with Wingstop when I'm home and in the mood for wings

We are always looking for good Cajun food. Found this spot and decided to give it a try. Great decision! Small, clean, comfortable , casual atmosphere. Excellent service with lots of good suggestions when we said we were first timers. Decided on the Cajun shrimp boil ordered spicy, fried shrimp dinner and then an order of oxtail to give it a try. Excellent food! A must try for anyone looking for good Cajun food in a neighborhood atmosphere. Oh and by the way, the daiquiris were EXCELLENT!

THE FOOD IS SO GOOD! You have to try this local favorite. It was our first time eating there and Mr. Cajun himself was there talking with guests and chopping it up. I dream about that fried corn and the oxtail was tender and super delicious. The staff were so friendly and were so happy to find we enjoyed our food. Overall great experience and place to eat at.

In all fairness I did order to go so they could be a factor here. Not pictured are the catfish nugget basket, catfish filet and shrimp basket and boudain balls.The crawfish Mac n cheese was flavorless, other than spice and it seemed to be missing the cheese. It was more like a crawfish pasta. The oxtail and turkey necks were tender but again the flavor was spice not much else.The nuggets appeared to have been old. Maybe sitting under a heating lamp before packed up. The catfish filets like someone else noted were small and fried extra hard. The shrimp could stand to be fried a bit longer.Aside from taking about 25 minutes to get my food, the staff was pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. Next time I will just try daiquiri's because the place does have a nice vibe. Just not sure I will get food again.

The food was good. Realllllly overpriced for the area. Service was great, with a smile. The scene was perfect for a quick bit in or take out. Was not a fan of the Mac n cheese, a little too much flavor. Overall really nice.

First time visiting and it was amazing great experience from the customer service to the food (good portion for the price), we dined in and it was a nice vibe! Will definitely be back!! I normally take pictures but, I forgot this time.
