If you would like the best breakfast sandwich of your life, this is it. At least, that was the case for me :) This is the most surprising little fresh-baked pastry shop one could find. It's tucked inside of a corporate building in Las Colinas. The building is under construction, and the cafe is likely doubling as a break room for employees, but let me tell you, it is worth looking beyond these abnormalities to enjoy the best sandwich AND amazing coffee (and those employees have it GOOD with this shop so close by). To give you a gauge, I'm a bit of a coffee snob and will only drink Starbucks as a dessert cause great coffee ain't about burnt beans and 5lbs of sugary syrup. The coffee at Montecito may be one of my favs so far (competing with Ascension for that spot). Go here and support this shop...the manager (or owner) that we met was absolutely the kindest and we felt so taken care of. Not to mention, you can get a nice view of the canal while you sip/eat.

We stopped here on our way from the airport to Dallas based on the other Yelp reviews and it was delicious. We ordered a Venezuelan Pan de Jamón, a ham, cheese and jalapeño croissant, a breakfast croissant sandwich, a berry and cream filled croissant, and cinnamon roll. We were impressed. The croissants rivaled the ones I devoured while living in France (French major). It's no small feat to make a croissant, much less a good one and they nailed it. The server was also really friendly. She welcomed us in and explained what everything was. Some other folks came in while we were there and it was clear she knew what they liked! They definitely have regulars. Though the view out the window is currently under going construction (which they have no control over), the tree and canal was nice to look at and very calming.

What a great little find! Montecito is located in the Canal Center office building. I would have never known about this place, but I saw a post on the Las Colinas page. There is free parking in the garage or in front of the building.I went around 1 pm and ordered a lavender latte, guava and cheese pastelito, a white chocolate guava cookie, and an Italian sandwich on white bread. I love that they offer unique baked goods aside from the regular croissant. The cookie had a perfect amount of chew and crisp. The guava pastry was nice and flaky and the sandwich was made with bread made in house. The lavender latte was solid, but the baked goods were the star. All the guava reminded me of Porto's bakery in SoCal. Now for the cons. It's in a office building and has a cafeteria vibe. There isn't much of an ambiance, but there is plenty of seating. Hours are also pretty limited and the pastry selection seemed to be more limited at 1 pm. I'm convinced if they had a shop outside of an office and regular hours, people would be lining up to try this place. The quality is definitely there and there aren't many quality bakeries in the area. The prices were reasonable. Overall, this place is worth a try for the top notch baked goods! I really hope they do well. Check out their Instagram page for more information.

The food is made from scratch every day. The smells of fresh baked croissants and other savory pastries fill the bottom floor every morning. My go to is the breakfast platter that includes two eggs, two large pieces of bacon and thick toast with house made jam. For $6.50, you couldn't find a better tasting deal in DFW. Staff is super friendly and am excited this place is on the bottom floor of the building I work in so I can have every morning. Would have added a photo but it's so good I eat it in seconds. Worth a stop even if you're passing by.

The ladies at Montecito bakery are amazing. Bright smiles and very sweet. I have had the croissants here and you cannot go wrong with any of them. They are all delicious! Sad thing is - their espresso machine broke. Hopefully it'll come back soon.
