I wish I had taken more photos but sadly I didn't. My husband and I have went to plenty of restaurants of this caliber and I have to say, this one is now a favorite. The service is fantastic due to their knowledge of food allergies and also just the charisma of our particular server. Everything we ate was cooked perfectly and the wait wasn't too long even though they were packed. When one of our ladies didn't like a drink, they replaced it with another option swiftly. I think if you want some excellent food with a good view and great service, this is it. I suggest the filet, mashed potatoes, and truffle risotto. Makes for a lovely date night. And make sure you dress up! (Ask about the speakeasy view upstairs)

4.5 stars for sure. Talk about wine and diiiine. This is THE spot to go if you're looking to impress a date and money is no object. As soon as you walk in, pick up a glass of complimentary champagne and enjoy as they walk you to your table. Careful not to trip as your eyes start to gaze to the left as you take in the beautiful lights of the Dallas skyline out the ceiling to floor windows. Be careful, don't let the suavamente of the waiter steal your show on this date. He's pretty suave.... Tonight is about the food. The food was good but truly it was the whole experience that made this night special for me. Everything put together was well done and I enjoyed the night.Just remember this is not for the faint of heart once you get your check. I tried not to let my eyes show it but whoowee. If you go into this knowing that in advance, you'll be able to appreciate the good food, the great staff, the beautiful ambiance.

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner here on a Sunday evening. We booked a 5:45pm reservation, arrived by 5:20pm, and were seated around 5:35pm. Our server, Juan, was attentive and hilarious. Our waters were never empty. Food was delicious. We ordered meatball, prosciutto and mozzarella salad, shrimp scampi ravioli, and the risotto, with two mocktails, and chocolate cake. All of it was cooked very well. We preferred the meatballs and salad to the pastas but it wasn't due to any of it being poorly made. The ravioli had an amazing texture, I was not a huge fan of shrimp stuffing. The risotto was very good but too salty for our tastes. We'll be back. We spent about $185 (including tip/tax) for our 2 hour dining excursion. Without mocktails or dessert would have brought that down to around $150. We were seated by one of the best viewing areas. All night people were coming by to take photos. Ambiance is romantic modern with lyric-less ambient modern soft jazz that felt a bit like lofi playing in the background. A wonderful experience.

I had a really nice birthday dinner at Monarch. Their reputation is well deserved and we can't wait to return! I highly recommend, especially when celebrating a special occasion. When entering the lobby, you'll quickly see that Monarch is a whole vibe.....very classy, upscale, and romantic. We were checked in & served champagne for our elevator ride to the 49th floor. Lovely touch! They sat us at a window seat since we were celebrating my birthday! The view was phenomenal and made the experience so much nicer and intimate. Service was top notch throughout the evening and our server, Denise, was fun.On to the food. Overall, dinner was great and one of the nicer meals we've had in Dallas. They recommend doing it family style, which we usually do anyway. We started with fritto misto. This was some of the best fritto misto we've ever had. We've even had it quite a few times in Italy and this dish was up there! It includes shrimp, calamari, and halibut chunks. The red sauce is chef's kiss!We also tried the John Dory, shrimp scampi ravioli, and whipped potatoes. The John Dory fish was on the dry side, so our least fave. Next time we'll try the king crab and branzino. The shrimp scampi ravioli and whipped potatoes were both very good. I'm a potato girl that loves good mashed potatoes and these were top tier. We ended our meal with the tableside tiramisu and it didn't disappoint. It's made like tiramisu should be....with very simple, high quality ingredients. The portion is large as well. It's enough for 2-3 people.Tips: You always need a reservation and if you use valet, remember to retrieve your vehicle from the 1st floor, not at the 2nd floor lobby entrance.

My wife surprised me with an incredible birthday/Valentine's Day dinner, and it was a night to remember. The restaurant offered a special prix fixe menu for the weekend, along with a few select cocktails, creating a festive and intimate dining experience. The menu was thoughtfully curated: Starters: - Hamachi--fresh and delicate - Wagyu Tartare--rich and indulgent - King Louie Salad--a crisp, flavorful start Mains: - Salmon--perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully balanced. - Wagyu Filet with Mushrooms--tender and decadent - Meyer Lemon Risotto--possibly the highlight of the night. - Purple Cauliflower--a unique and delicious touch Dessert: I'm not exactly sure what it was, but whatever it was--it was phenomenal! The only drawback of the evening was the slightly clunky service. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected a more polished experience. That said, it was a busy night, and prix fixe menus aren't always routine for the staff. Despite that, the meal was fantastic, and I'm already looking forward to returning to explore the full menu.

My husband and I went to Monarch to celebrate our anniversary. The modern Italian restaurant is nestled up in the sky. Sadly, that night was cloudy, and we could not look out and see the beautiful night sky! This place was PACKED on a Friday evening. Especially, an evening with very bad storms earlier. The service here is okay. I felt like I expected more from a restaurant of this caliber. Our water glasses were frequently empty, and our server did not come by much to check in and see if we needed anything. However, the food was fantastic. We ordered the wood fired meatballs and the Prosciutto and Bufalo mozzarella to share. Both were absolutely fantastic and we would order them again! For our main entrees, we ordered the filet mignon, and the wood grilled branzino. We really enjoyed both dishes. I'd ordered the filet mignon again between the 2. The meat was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. The interior of the restaurant was really well done! It was very dark, moody, and romantic. Since we were near Christmas, the restaurant was very festive and decorated for the holiday!

Monarch is a charming Italian eatery on Elm Street, with a warm and welcoming staff that makes you feel right at home. The cocktail selection is impressive, and I started with a French 75, followed by a bottle of wine -- both of which were excellent choices. However, the dinner experience didn't quite match up to the high expectations. I ordered the Short Rib Bolognese, and unfortunately, it was underwhelming. The pasta was undercooked, and the dish lacked flavor. As an Italian restaurant, I had hoped for much more. In the end, I couldn't bring myself to finish the meal, so I left it untouched, paid the bill, and decided to grab something else on my way home.

I will start by saying that Monarch is definitely a place to go for a special occasion. This place is pricey, but absolutely delicious! The highlight of the meal was the wagyu that we ordered. It was a special one that our server said would ruin steak for us, because now no other steak that we would have after would be as good. She was right, that steak was probable the best that I've ever had!I highly recommend their pastas too, especially the lobster spaghetti. The amount of lobster that you get in the dish is worth the price. And the one thing I hate about seafood pastas is how fishy the pasta is, but the lobster spaghetti had none of that fishy taste at all. It was an absolutely delicious pasta with excellent presentation, as they served it in the actual lobster shell.Last thing, the table side tiramisu is to die for. So fresh and decadent. That almost ruined tiramisu for me as well, as I don't think any other would compare. Definitely worth the $35.I'm so glad that I was able to go to a restaurant like this, probably one of the best meals I've had. And don't forget to ask for a table in by the window. The views of downtown Dallas are outstanding and definitely a great vibe in the restaurant.

Went to Monarch on a Saturday night! It was busy, but beautiful inside and out! Here are some pros and cons -Pros - Beautiful ambiance, wonderful service (everyone from receptionists to servers), and super flavorful foodCons - Slow service (took forever for entrees and check, but drinks came fast), slow valet, and small portions for pasta. Overall a great experience for a special occasion! Just make sure you're not in a time crunch :)
