Mi Dia From Scratch

Innovative and upscale Tex-Mex and New-Mexican restaurant (although if you really are from New Mexico, order from the Tex-Mex menu!). Modern and stylish interior. The drinks! Impressive! Unlike the sugary garbage at other chains! The habanero pepper infused tequila is HOT ! Don't get it if you can't handle spice. We came around 630pm on a bitterly cold freezing Thursday for dinner. The place was packed! Slammed! We did not have a reservation but snagged the last booth. Definitely make a reservation for weekends. Our waitress was excellent! We had drinks, steak, enchiladas (not really enchiladas, did I mention this place is "innovative"?) , and churros. The churros were fresh with hot caramel in the middle, chocolate dip and ice cream. We will definitely be bringing family here when they visit. Lots of parking all around.

Food was over all ok. I ordered the Huevos Ahogados - almost like an eggs benedict. It was poached eggs on top of masa "boats", topped with a pesto reduction and pickled onions. I was thinking the masa boats would be like sopes but it was not. They were too dense, lacked flavor, and quite dry. The eggs were over cooked and the sauce lacked salt - overall a very underwhelming dish. The fan favorite at the table was the Steak & Rellenos. Portion is good, steak was cooked as ordered and seasoned well. Chicken Tinga Tacos and the Pollo Agave were mostly good. Service was quick once our food was ordered, but it did take a while to get our server to come take our order.

First of all, I love this place and believe this is one of the best places to dine Mexican/New Mexican flavors. I come here quite often and highly recommend it to any of my friends to try it out.Unfortunately though, I along with my wife took couple of my friends there for a birthday celebration. The enchiladas Del Mar had old (kinda rotten) garnish all over (note we love this dish and have ordered it so many times). I mentioned this to the server, who called the manager I assume, who was explaining for 10 min that it was normal. At that point I just said it's all good. Do not believe we should feel this way after spending after almost 300 bucks. I never post anything bad on yelp and have never done it before. Never really thought it would be for a restaurant that I dearly love.Suggestion to Mi Dia: please do try to listen to your loyal customers instead of disapproving their experience entirely.

Staff was very nice, vibe was cool. Food def is pricey. Mocktails were good. The burrito came wet, i thought-it would be dry normal burrot. Chips and salsa were good, we also got queso as well. I wish they had normal plain salsa for dipping the chips into. Not much burrito options which was interesting.

We stopped in on an early Saturday afternoon and it wasn't very busy. The inside is esthetically pleasing and the lighting is pretty good. I also like the fact that they had a covered patio area. Gerardo was our waiter and he was awesome! He was kind, knowledgeable about the menu and provided many suggestions that didn't leave us disappointed. Our drinks were soo good I forgot to take a picture. The espresso martini though was! Get it get it get it! I love Mia Dia and the good always hits!

I'm going to give this a 3-star. Reservation went smoothly. We made reservations for patio seating over the phone and when we got there their patio is enclosed and not truly a patio, which was unfortunate due to the beautiful weather. We ordered a margarita which I will say was just ok. And then paid our bill and left next door to Princi Italia to enjoy the patio. The issue I have is that it was not related to us in the phone that there is in fact no patio when I specifically said we wanted to enjoy the patio. This was a birthday celebration and as busy women we don't have many luxuries like this to get out and spend time together. Since Dallas only offers about 3 good patio weather weeks we were disappointed.

My favorite spot for a quick drink before a movie and an amazing appetizers! Fully recommend if you have not been here!

Beautiful decor, delicious food, clean look and feel, and excellent wait-staff! I was very impressed with Mi Dia in Plano. Our server was Abraham C, and he was marvelous! He was professional, friendly, caring, and an overall perfect server. I enjoyed the shrimp fajitas. The other 2 people in our party ordered the chicken fajitas and the Juanita platter. Everyone was really happy with their food. I also loved the lemonade! I can't wait to return to try other menu items.

Service was painfully slow!! Waiter did not check that he brought the wrong food and after 10 minutes we were able to fish down a different waiter. We even sat for over 10 minutes before getting chips and salsa and water. Won't be back!

Went here today for the first time for a friend's birthday and to be honest I was not impressed at all with the food quality and service speed. Ambiance was good, servers were nice, but unfortunately that did not make up for the super slow service and very blend tasting food. Personally I wouldn't comeback after our first experience.
