Mi Cocina

The decor is very fun and attractive. The service was perfect. The food was good but the Mambo Taxi was delicious! I had the brisket tacos and I enjoyed them.

Let me start off by saying, I'm not a stranger to dining in high end restaurants. I also travel for work and provide lighting and dimming systems to many high end national accounts, steak restaurants, fine dining etc. I was commissioning a jobsite in southlake and Mi Cocina was the closest restaurant around with a low $ on Google. When I walked in the hostess says something to the tune of "This kind of a nice place for you" Okay Yeah I was carrying a duffel bag and backpack, but you should never judge a book by its cover. Especially when you're a mid tier restaurant. The salad was good though and my server was great.Btw, your lighting is mid and high ceiling floods are low end. Having worked with National and world renowned restauranteurs in the industry some with revenues over $500-800million alone, customer service and getting 5 star ratings should be your top priority, not having condescending front of house staff deterring business.

Stopped in here on a snow day where Mi Cocina was the only restaurant open in the area. I was expecting slow service due to the extreme weather conditions, but I was pleasantly surprised. The waiter was excellent and provided top notch service. The food was served very fast and everything tasted excellent. We started with the sampler appetizer and everyone at our table devoured the entire plate. The margaritas were very good as well. I ordered the Ernie's chicken and while it was very different from I normally order, it was very good. Everyone in our group enjoyed their experience at Mi Cocina.

I love this place! I come here all time! The migas is so good! It's my fav order! Love their chips and salsa! You can never go wrong with ordering some caso too! It's always a nice vibe and all the food is always so hot when it comes to the table!

Only worth a visit for the Mambo Taxi! Skip the food!Ambiance & Service: The interior is clean and modern. Service is good, with frequent chip refills. The food came out quickly, but it was lunch, and they weren't very busy!Food & Drink:- Mambo Taxi (skinny): Incredibly strong and delicious! Not too sweet and love that they have a skinny version. Would order again!- Queso: One of the worst quesos I've ever had. It was watery and practically flavorless!- Cheese Quesadilla: A bit greasy, but the tortilla was nicely crispy. Hard to mess up a quesadilla.- Beans and Rice: Very mediocre with little flavor.TL;DR - The food at Mi Cocina is disappointing, but the Mambo Taxi is worth the hype!

I grew up eating Mi Cocina at various locations across the metroplex, as I was in the DFW area for a week, decided to swing by for lunch before I head off to the airport, I'm sure glad I did! I decided to sit at the bar, Everything was very good. Treated myself to a margarita as well as queso. The queso tasted so amazing. I got a half order of the Nachos Locos. It was a good size portion for 10 bucks. Now I really do wish there was a Mi Cocina in Northwest Arkansas(there is probably only 2 good "authentic" Tex Mex restaurants in Northwest Arkansas) because if there was I would probably come there about 2 or 3 times a week. Overall it was a very good lunch and I will definitely will be back to another Mi Cocina when I come back to DFW

Food was delicious, staff were friendly and attentive, drinks were made to perfection, and the restaurant has a wonder modern atmosphere! Great place to grab a bite after a long day at south lake! Will be returning!

The Yelp average of 4 stars at Mi Cocina is on target. Menu has a good mix of flavors and plating options, everything I ate was good, particularly their green rice served with the main dishes. The guacamole appetizer was expense for what you get at $9 but the plate prices for tacos are fair. I had two drinks, they came out fast, too fast, like Clark Kent to Superman Photo Booth, everything must be premade. The drink flavors were ok, I wouldn't return just for drinks but with the meal one was a ok compliment. Our waiter was great, you could see his hustle but his coworkers let him down when we didn't get complimentary chips or salsa, the waiter noticed when he returned to the table with our appetizer and corrected. Overall good restaurant with tons of seating, good food and service.

Love this spot! Defiantly under rated. The Ernie 's chicken is heavenly. Chips and salsa are always fresh and delicious. Bacon wrapped prawns with cream sauce are a great choice for a starter. Their Queso is also recommended. They have decent wines by the glass and tasty and margaritas. Mi Cocina has inspiring, outdoor and bar area seating. Lots of parking all around the area.
