Merriwood Ranch

This is a great place for riding, lessons, and kids camps. The people are so friendly, the horses are gorgeous, and the facilities are all top of the line. My friend who brought me learned to ride here as a child and has been coming for over 20 years. It's been the same staff the whole time, so you can trust that they know what they're doing. The horses were simply majestic and a lot of fun to hang out and go riding with.

My daughter and I have been riding at Merriwood for about 3 years and we absolutely love it! The horses are trustworthy & the people are friendly. I love that their priority is safety & they will make certain you're confident in your current level before moving you to something new - but at the same time they know when to push & encourage you! My daughter loves the summer camps too - you get plenty of riding time, plus fun on-the-ground learning, crafts, snacks & water games! We've definitely found a home at Merriwood!

This is one of the best summer camps my daughters ever attended. My oldest daughter also took weekly horseback riding lessons and showed horses under Merriwood Ranch. She even became a counselor. The experience was tremendous. They had fun, learned discipline, bonded. They absolutely loved it here. Great memories.

I have been riding at Merriwood for 15 years . I came out of an AA circuit barn growing up and quit riding for 25 years. This place has absolutely been the best experience I have ever had!! The vibe is so not judging and so positive, no matter what you want to do! Just ride for fun, show or just learn about horses! The summer camps are so fun and such a great way for kids to learn how to ride, take care of horses, learn about feed, barn care, showing, grooming and horse anatomy. We are a really a close family and we welcome you to join us!

One of the best places for riding lessons and camps! My daughters all loved riding at Merriwood. The staff are amazing and wonderful role models for young girls. It is a great place for to learn about (and fall in love with) horses. I can't recommend it enough!

I've been riding at merriwood for almost 20 years. If you are looking to show or just have fun they have something for children to adults. Their summer camp is a great way to teach children everything from basic riding skills to grooming and care for horses to more advanced skills like jumping. They really focus on safety and fun for everyone. If you ride here you will quickly become part of the close knit family that everyone is at this facility.

My daughter started attending Merriwood summer camp at age 7 and quickly developed a love for the sport, the horses, and the camaraderie with her fellow riders. She continued on to lessons and then competing in local horse shows with Merriwood. Eleven years later she still rides several times a week and loves being part of the Merriwood family. Merriwood is a wonderful environment to learn the hard work and discipline that goes into the sport and at the same time the joy of connecting with your horse on a great ride. The trainers, Mary Beth and Sid use their years of experience to build strong confident riders, but above all make it a fun experience. I would recommend Merriwood to anyone looking for a great training facility for their child, especially those beginning in the sport and wanting to learn from the best.
