Mena's Tex-Mex Grill Cantina is my 'go-to' restaurant when I visit my daughter who lives in Plano, TX. The food is always plentiful, delicious and beautifully presented.I had the Beef Fajitas, my daughter had the chicken burrito and my granddaughter had the brisket tacos. It was all delicious and we each brought home dinner for the following evening.

I wish Yelp let us give 4.5 rating.... This place is a 4.5It is located in a walkable area with apartments and restaurants. I love the design of mixed-use type developments like that. The restaurant has a nice ambiance. The restaurant has a nice bar area and ample seating. The food was fresh and good. I had Queso, Carne a La Tampiquena and a Tres Leches. The chips and sales and queso were good but I like a little more spice so I got some legit hot sauce to mix in. Made it excellent. The Carne a La Tampiquena was fork tender and was seasoned well. The enchilada was an enchilada.... Not much to write about. Tres Leches was on point! Great finish to the meal. Overall would highly recommend

We eat at Mena's often and it's our favorite Mexican food place. We had brunch for the first time today and it did not disappoint. My hubby had the brisket omelette & I ordered the huevos rancheros with beef fajitas, both excellent!!!!Great service and a big yum on good & drinks!

FOODCarne a la Tampiquena was alright. It was pretty salty overall and falls a lot more on the heavier side. The beef was tender and flavor was ok.Salsa is also a bit salty but also is good consistency and flavor. The chips are fresh and crispy! VIBESThe place has nice vibes with dim lighting. Seating includes booth and standard chair and table seating. It's quite spacious. Looks like most of the people here are either catching up with friends, eating with family, or going on dates.SERVICE Service was great! No complaints here!

I've come here several times and have always enjoyed my visits. Their service is good, their prices are very reasonable, and have a good happy hour and drinks. Every dish I've ordered so far, including the carne asada, have always been very savory and seasoned just right. For a tex mex joint, I do think they have their own unique flavors and presentations of classic dishes, compared to other tex mex places. It is definitely a casual, family friend restaurant, and does get busy during the lunch rush on weekdays from people coming to have lunch during work. But even then, it is not too too busy where there is a long wait. Will definitely be back again.

First time and won't be the last time. We loved our evening at Mena's. The ambiance was updated and clean. Service by Vanessa was great. She was certainly customer focused and wanted to ensure our evening went well. The top shelf jalapeno margarita was tasty and certainly had a nice kick. We began with tableside guacamole (not made tableside, but made from scratch when you order), which was delicious and a large portion - enough for 4. I definitely recommend it.For entrees, we had the enchilada dinner (1 chicken sour cream and one cheese with queso) and the Carne a la Tampiquena (skirt steak and a cheese enchilada). We were asked if it was ok to have onions in our cheese enchiladas. The answer was of course yes. For some reason in Dallas too many Tex-Mex places do not include onions in the cheese enchiladas. True Tex-Mex absolutely has onions in cheese enchiladas! The enchiladas were exceptional and highly recommended, along with the refried beans. If the beans and rice are done right, you are typically in for a good Mexican meal. I was not a fan of the skirt steak. Mine was overcooked with a tough crisp and covered with salsa. I would not order the Tampiquena again (it kept this review from being 5 stars overall). But I will be back for the enchiladas and guacamole. Prices were very reasonable.

Pretty disappointed. Ordered fajitas via door dash. My biggest issue is they forgot the tortillas. Fajitas without tortillas ruins the whole dish. Then the fajitas are flavorless and overcooked. I tried calling to explain but no one answered.

I went here to eat with my co workers during lunch. I ordered the brisket tacos for $13 dollars. The service was okay. They forgot to refill our chips and salsa and water as well. The food does come out fast despite it being crowded at the restaurant. Since we were a big party they gave us a bill separately and they did not add on a tip which was nice as some restaurants add in a 18% gratuity if parties are larger than 6. So I gave them 20% tip. Food was pretty good, but brisket as a little dry for me.
