Marshall's Bar-B-Q

First for what is great about Marshall's. The staff is extremely friendly and service oriented. That alone gave them an extra star. The interior reminds me of places we stopped at in my youth while we were taking one of my dad's famous "let's go see Texas" trips. It's very cozy and familiar. The prices are very affordable for a bbq place about 50% below market. I ordered a half pound of moist, sliced brisket. This is my go to order in evaluating all bbq joints. The meat was served on a plastic plate with a heated 2oz container of sauce. I orders green beans and cole slaw for my sides. They were generous with their portions. The brisket was moist and fell apart. It had no unique flavor. I added a bit of sauce to give it some. This helped. The green beans appeared to be out of can and enhanced with red pepper. They were suitable. The cole slaw was solid but nothing unique.I wanted to really like this place, but the meat was boring. If you are looking for an affordable place to take a family, this is a perfect affordable, friendly place. I

Ordered the Trail Boss for a family get together. Everyone was super nice and helpful. And the food was amazing. Can't wait to go back!

Nice faMily run BBQ joint. We enjoyed reading the history as we waited to order - there's something about enjoying a meal from a place that's been in business 50+ years. BBQ is notoriously judged based on personal preference. I like well seasoned brisket and little reliance on sauce. Marshall's offers well cut and cooked brisket but is lightly seasoned. The star of the show are the sides, desserts and a wide variety of house made sauces. Altogether pleasant and very filling. Not the type of BBQ I would necessarily seek out, but also nothing I would complain about being served. Staff are super friendly and those sides - trust me. You want those calories.

The turkey was pressed from a loaf that you would cut sandwich meat at a deli. The sausage was subpar also. Could have bought better from grocery store

I use to go to Marshalls all the time for their moderate prices and great staff and moderate quality. Well the staff is still great but the food has taken a massive hit for what they're charging for it now. The potatoes are very VERY small and the meat isn't the same.

Went here with our family after a funeral. Service was very friendly and efficient. My wife enjoyed the ribs. We all enjoyed the sides. My brisket was a bit dry, but the sauce helped a lot. We would go back if we are in the Metroplex again.

Great tasting barbecues. Wish their selection of side dishes was better--like it was before pandemic. But still a favorite place to go.

The food at the Carrollton location is all real Texas homemade goodness. I have never been disappointed in the 20+ years I've been going there for my BBQ ribs & brisket fix. And they always hit the spot.I've never been to the FB location as it's a lot further away.Hello, all restaurants have gone up significantly in price. A few weeks ago I spent over $40 at a local fried chicken place for 8 pcs of all dark meat, some rolls and two small sides. No drinks or deserts. Party of two $43.00.Marshall's service has always been very prompt, courteous and gets my order right.Yes, I can tell when they change their rib supplier. Fortunately they end back up with the original source one or one closest to it. Sometimes the meat suppliers do go out of business. I am forever a very satisfied repeat customer.

My fiancée and I loved our first experience at the drive thru, and it was very enjoyable. Everything was delicious: the fried okra was crispy and tasty, the brisket was moist and well seasoned, and even the ice tea was good. The peach cobbler was old fashioned and amazing!!

Let me start with saying they have the nicest staff. However, the food is so bland and tasteless. Thought they just forgot to season everything on our first visit. But it's been the same 3 times now. Brisket is very moist but strangely has no flavor whatsoever--it's perplexing. We've tried most sides and they are also tasteless. Reminds me of old folks home food. Not a speck of salt, pepper, or other seasonings. Their bbq sauce isn't even good. I want to love this place because of the staff but sadly 3 strikes and Marshall's is out.
