Lyric Stage

This is a local gem in the North Texas area. They put on classic musicals with a full orchestra. The shows, in my opinion, are Broadway-quality. They even sometimes feature big-name actors. For example, I had the pleasure of seeing Davis Gaines (of "Phantom" fame) in their production of "The Night of the Hunter." This was an original production, I believe, and unfortunately I've never seen it go anywhere (it was very good!). They also frequently display art and cultural exhibits that you can look at before the show starts and during intermission. Bathrooms are nice and clean, and the refreshments are reasonably priced. I find the theatre to be one of the most comfortable I've visited. Acoustics are great! We have season tickets and will continue to subscribe in the future. Community-produced, Broadway-quality!

One thing you will be assured of when you purchase your ticket to a Lyric Stage production: you will get a quality musical experience when you leave the theatre. Steve Jones, the producer, sees to that. The company spends a good amount of resources on sets and costumes and pulls in some real ringers with talent from the Dallas area and the New York pool.
