We sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple beverages from the friendly bartender. While owned by the same group as Katy Trail Ice House, it has a much different vibe. It is a concrete structure with few windows, unlike the outdoor nature of Ice House. Some of the vintage decor is similar, but the space is much smaller. A good spot for a gloomy day!

Buddy & staff did a great job bringing a very nice addition to Dallas bar scene. Awesome selection for the whiskey connoisseurs. Food and service are just as consistent as KTIH.

I love this spot! I think some of the earlier reviews may have just been while they were working out some "new business" kinks. I've been twice now - Once during the day while my friends & I were waiting for our table to be ready at Ice House, and once at night to just lounge and watch some football with my husband. Our waitress (I wish I knew her name) was super friendly and on top of it. She checked on us consistently and made sure our waters were always filled. Their food was also really good - similar style to Ice House. Their chicken & sausage gumbo and Hot Toddy hit the spot on a cold night! It's also a very clean and cozy vibe inside. Once you go through the revolving door, it feels like you're transported to a cozy NYC saloon with a mid-century feel. The decor is vintage yet classy, they have a decent amount of TVs for sports fans, and all staff members seemed friendly and happy to be there. Highly recommend Lucky Dog!

The team that has remodeled this building did a great job. Love the dark but welcoming atmosphere when you walk in. As someone from NY, not sure why the owner calls this a NY style pub. Can only think of a few NY bars that have this feel and those are designed to be 'country' bars. Other than the revolving door, the bar feels more like a wild west type vibe, but it's very nice. In fact, and the reason for my 3 stars, the only thing NY about this place is the prices. $10 dollars for a Brooklyn Lager ( a pint, not a Katy Trail Ice House goblet)? $16 dollars for an old fashioned that took 30 seconds to make? Not sure if there are pitcher options, but at $10 a pour, I'd be scared to ask. After the closing of Ill Minster Pub and Kung Fu Lounge, this area of Uptown has been in desperate need of another neighborhood pub to be a regular gathering place, so when the doors opened I was excited. But with these prices, it may be nice to meet a friend for a drink time to time, but will not be a regular watering hole for most people. This team needs to realize, this is not the Ice House. People pay extra for drinks over there for the ambience. To pay the same prices only to sit inside a dark bar? No thank you. They have an amazing team, the servers and bar tenders are very friendly. Hopefully after a few weeks open the owner will realize this is a bar and not the Ice House and will lower the prices and maybe add daily specials or a happy hour. With better pricing this place definitely has the potential to be a gem to the neighborhood.

Went to this bar as a recommended place to try as it is new to the area. I didn't do any research beforehand so I was genuinely surprised when I saw what it looked like. I was expecting this modern, uptown bar, but it was far from that. The brick painted, old school, outside reflects the insides dark, yet warming atmosphere. I can see how people say it reminds them of a New York bar (most reviews said because of the prices, which is funny cause it's true), but also I can see it giving off New York Industrial Revolution, roaring 20s vibe. Also, born and raised in New York I personally can see this bar as a place to go in the middle of winter because of the warmth it provides from its yellow lighting to the solace of their open bar seating to their jukebox playing atmosphere. Whether or not that fits into the Dallas culture I cannot quite decide. Drinks were good got a cosmo and a beer, offer good variety, but would have to say, if you're an old fashioned drinker then this bar seems to align well with that choice of drink, so would definitely recommend visiting if that is you. Service was good, the bartender was attentive and kind, also helped with drink recommendations. Overall, I'd give it a 3.5 it's an above average bar. Because Yelp doesn't let me give 3.5 I'll rank it a 3.
