I started riding at Laurel Ridge Stables in January of 2022 and it was the best decision I've ever made for myself. I am a beginner adult rider, having started at age 31! Hannah is extremely patient and kind and has helped me along in my very short riding journey. I value her as a trainer and friend so much! She is extremely compassionate and understanding. She will never make you feel bad about your riding, rather provides positive feedback and a plan of action for improving at your pace. The barn is like a second family. From the horses, the riders, and their families, Laurel Ridge Stables has really created a safe space focused around community, determination and good sportsmanship. I always joke saying I'm healing my inner child but it's true. Working with Hannah and the horses have changed my life. This barn is a show barn, so the barn participates in shows in/out of state (mainly in Texas). I started showing this year and it's such a fun way to get more involved and work towards a goal. No matter how young or old, there's always room! The lesson program is wonderful and each horse has something to teach (just be sure to say thank you and give lots of treats)! The horses are all well taken care of and barn is beautiful. There is an outdoor bathroom on site and a sink to wash your hands. If you thought about horseback riding and didn't know if it was possible, please know it's completely feasible and worth it! It's never too late to start riding!

The horses are fabulous, and the riding program provided by Hannah and Jordon is excellent. What a wholesome community of riders and supportive families

I absolutely love this barn. I have been riding for a year and 2 months (about to be 3 in may) and I have learned a lot.Hannah is a great trainer and is always looking out for the horses. She doesn't overwork her helpers or make them do anything to hard. She also always pays attention to her riders and keeps them safe.

We have only had 3 lessons so far but I will say Hannah has been great with my 13 year old. She made sure my daughter felt comfortable the first day and answered all her questions. We told Hannah that she was not new to riding and so she allowed my daughter on her second lesson to have a bit more freedom. Just checking in to see if we needed help and gave praise for a job well done. I love her attitude in during the lesson, she gives direction and reminds the kids of what they are doing right and wrong. They are very responsive to text messages which now that I see how busy she is, I totally understand how a quick text is easier than a call.

I boarded at this barn for years while it was run by Nicole Foster and it was an amazing facility. Unfortunately, after Hannah Teutsch took over and turned it into Laurel Ridge Stables things started going downhill and I had a very bad experience. Here are just SOME of the things I disliked about Laurel Ridge Stables.1. SAFETY: I have seen Hannah teach children horseback riding lessons and allow them to ride in bike helmets and sneakers. This is not safe. Bike helmets are not meant for horseback riding and will not protect your children adequately if they fall, which is always a possibility. Sneakers are also not safe or suitable for riding. You need heeled boots when riding to avoid getting your feet caught in the stirrups and being dragged. In my opinion, the fact that Hannah states on her website that tennis shoes are "perfect" and also states that she allows bicycle helmets is extremely dangerous. 2. ATTITUDE: It is Hannah's way or the highway. If you board your horse here and share ANY concerns with Hannah, in my experience she is completely unhelpful, and in fact, she will act passive aggressive and rude. I did NOT feel welcome at Laurel Ridge Stables. In my opinion, the way Hannah treats her boarders is unprofessional. She has spoken aggressively towards boarders many times for doing things she didn't like (bringing our own horses inside when it's raining, requesting our horses hay be fed on the ground rather than in the overhead hay compartment, etc). Hannah also kicked out the majority of boarders (in my opinion, the ones that did things she didn't like, as mentioned earlier) and the reason she gave was that she is "unable to provide your horses the highest quality care they deserve", which in my opinion is true, I agree that she cannot provide the high quality care the horses deserve. Hannah also has an awful habit of interrupting phone calls and insisting you end your call and talk to her. She has done this to me multiple times, even after I told her I did not appreciate her interrupting my calls, which I found extremely rude.3. CARE: In my opinion, the care at Laurel Ridge Stables does NOT meet my expectations for my horses (Nor Hannah's, as she stated as such when kicking boarders out). The horses waters were extremely dirty and nearly empty on multiple occasions, and when I brought my concerns about this up to Hannah she told me that if I didn't like it I could feel free to fix it myself. Again, she herself stated that she cannot provide the high quality care our horses deserve. Boarders are also not allowed to ride their horses during lessons, which severely limits the times you can ride because Hannah will not post a lesson schedule for boarders to plan their rides around. 4. FACILITY: There is NO BATHROOM. AT ALL. NOT EVEN A PORT-A-POTTY. If you or your child has to go to the bathroom your options are to go to a gas station or hold it.5. EXPENSIVE: in my opinion, compared to other barns in the area, Hannah's board and lessons are extremely expensive for what you get (some of her lesson options don't even include her teaching you how to get the horse ready, which nearly every other barn includes in their lessons). Boarders have to pay extra for supplying their own feed and hay.OVERALL, I would NOT recommend Laurel Ridge Stables. In my experience, Hannah is unpleasant, unprofessional, and the way she runs her barn creates a hostile, unwelcoming environment that I have never experienced at any other barn. I would not board my horses here again, I would not take lessons here (especially if I were a beginner), and I would not send my horses here for training. In my years of riding and owning horses I have never experienced such an unpleasant trainer.UPDATE: The same day I posted my review it got reported for being a "conflict of interest", despite me having no conflict of interest at all. I paid to board my horses at Laurel Ridge Stables for months and had multiple negative experiences with Hannah. The fact that someone (I suspect Hannah) immediately reports negative reviews as conflicts of interest says a lot about this business's practices.

This was a great outing! Hannah was so nice with our 6.5 year old. Started with some care of the horse, brushing and setting up and followed by some excellent instructions. Much better than just sitting and trail riding as she learned how to handle the horse, trot and turn!
