La Morenita Mexican Cafe

I found this jewel by accident so I went to try their Menudo, it is wonderful, the taste is one of the best from the 52 places I have tried, also the service is wonderful and they are friendly, I took the menudo to go but looking inside of the restaurant, is a clean place and good ambience. You should go to try it.

Great place with great food! Had the Guisdo!! Highly recommend! Great service. Great food. Will be back for sure!

Fri-ya is here again and we decided on La Morenita. Knew going in that it was a hole in the wall but I wasn't worried. Parking was tight up front, but around the side was not too bad. There was a lunch crowd there which was a good sign. We were seated in a booth that was too tight and it was a little cooler than I'm used to, but I wasn't there for the ambiance. I ordered guisado de res and my wife ordered the flautas. Booth orders came with rice and beans and the guiso came with tortillas, I picked the flour. I ordered the agua the pina and my wife got the jaimaica, both were great and tasted fresh, not the powder variety. The chips and salsa were really good too. The salsa had a spicy kick which I appreciated. Food came out nice and warm and my guiso was delicious. There was some fat mixed in with the tender meat but not so bad that you couldn't just work around it. My wife liked the flautas de Pollo but wished the chicken was shredded a little more. A couple of bites ended up pulling out more chicken than intended a few times leaving some bites of empty shell. Upon delivery of the food there was some crema and salsa verde that was dropped off that was also great. I ended up ordering a gorditas de chicharrón just to try it and it was also pretty good with an extra shot of green salsa and the cilantro and onion they provide on the side. Overall it was a good meal that reminded me of growing up back in Corpus Christi with no frills just great flavors.

This is one of those spots that's probably not nice to look at outside or inside, but the food is out of this world. Homemade flour tortillas the best Gorditas I've ever tried, and the beans are delicious. The service is top notch. The friendliest waitress I've ever come across. Don't walk.... But run to this place.

This is great place. Friendly service and great tacos. Only issues are the building is run down and servers have a hard time understanding English.

This is a hidden gem of a taqueria in the Las Colinas/Irving/Dallas corner of town. Just off of Loop 12 and Grauwyler behind a gas station this is the sort of place that can be missed by most of the residents but should be high on any ones list for great "authentic" Mexican food. The staff greets you with a smile and some chips and house made salsa that is above par and definitely NOT made in New York City. I went there with 3 other friends and we were all surprised at the quantity of great food that we were served for lunch. The beef and chicken fajitas were both tender and seasoned well. The mounds of meat were accompanied by rice, beans and a small salad. They were also garnished with a grilled jalapeno. The street taco plate was also a generous portion with the beans and salad. I had the chicken quesadilla with sides of rice, beans, and salad. My group of 4 were all big guys that had been working hard all morning but we were all satisfied and if we had not had to go back to work we would have welcomed a siesta.

Do Not go to this place they are very rude they don't allow public to use the restroom I was dinning in to eat the lady's there make rude ugly faces

This place deserves more than 5 stars. Delicious beef fajitas and guisoFlour tortillas are homemade.The food is deliciously good. We are coming back and bringing family.

Solid mom and pop Mexican restaurant. Perfect for lunch. I got the beef Colorado and loved it.

Delicious- nothing fancy, just good solid Mexican food. The salsa is warm and yummy, tacos were not big, but real street style and yummy.
