JMAC Backyard BBQ

I was craving a bbq stuffed potato and googled locations that were opened late. I saw that JMAC was opened until 9:30 so with it being a short distance from my home, I went. I arrived and saw a sign on the door advertising karaoke night on Saturdays. As I entered, it was a large and bright area with tables and shockingly lots of people from different age groups. I walked to the counter and waited but no one was there. I was soon greeted by a woman who walked up and took my order for a chopped brisket potato. As I waited, karaoke began and an older woman sang an Elvis tune. I received my order which came with jalapeños, bbq sauce, butter and cheese. I wish that I'd gotten more bbq sauce but overall it met my craving.I'd return but would try something different.

First time to order and after delivery, (I live 2 minutes away) the food was cold. The baked potato was obviously reheated from the day before. You can see by the color. The brisket and sausage were barely warm and not seasoned. Very bland and disappointing. The potato salad was okay. Dont think we will give this another try. For sure do not eat there after 6 , you will just get leftovers.

It was okay. Got the ribs and had no flavor really unless you smother it in bbq sauce.

The service is absolutely great. I have never felt so welcomed at a restaurant. We did not stand in a line and make our order at the counter and pay. The owner took our order at the table. He brought a pitcher of tea to the table because he noticed we had our own stevia and he did not want to mess up our ratio by topping us off before we were ready. We paid after the meal, owner said I don't like to drop off tickets I feel like it makes ppl feel like it's time to go now. I want my customers to stay as long as they want. So when they are ready to go they can come up and pay. Food was great as well. The brisket was very tender, ribs really did just fall off the bone and the sauce was very good. We also had the kickers, bacon wrapped cream cheese & brisket stuffed jalapeños, they were great!!

The customer service was very good. We got the turkey leg because it was recommended to us, but unfortunately we didn't like it very much. We're not the biggest fan of turkey but we gave it a shot anyways. To people that like turkey I feel like it would be very good!

Tried for the first time and I liked it overall. The people were very friendly! The meats are good. The core of the food is good but the other "stuff" needs a little help. We got the pork nachos, loaded brisket potato, and mac & cheese. The nachos needed more meat and potato was over cooked but yet not very hot.I would like to see them do something different. Maybe with their sides. Something that makes them standout.

It's SO HARD to find a great, smoke-free, family-oriented, karaoke place until you stumble upon JMAC's. They host a family atmosphere of fun karaoke, every other week. But, get there early because they close at 10 pm... just in time to tuck those kiddos into bed! The wait staff treats you like family from the second you walk in. And, you feel the "home-style" spirit the entire time you are there. The singers are encouraged and yelped for regardless of talent... another SUPER STAR quality of this place. Jimmy, the cool owner, walks around the place just to visit and joke around with his guests. I heard someone say tonight, "This place just feels like home!" If you aren't a singer, come for the food. And, if you don't buy an order of the Brisket Kickers, well, sorry to be you!!! Those things are RIDICULOUSLY good. I think our table ate 4 or 5 orders, alone. The salsa is made in-house and has an awesome kick that will make you go back chip after chip. If you love karaoke, this is a great, family place. While you're singing, you will see precious kiddos dancing in front of you. The food is delish. The staff is top-notch. And, it's an all-around great place to frequent. First off the service was GREAT! But as far as smoked meat/bbq....there was a lot to be desired. No smoke ring or flavor on any of the meats we ordered...brisket, ribs, and chicken! There was no trace of any rub on the meats...needed salt and sauce badly which is why we probably won't try them again. Sides appeared to be out of a can but weren't bad. The way the brisket was sliced was unorthodox compared to most bbq joints we've been to...also it was tough. The sauce was ok. I have to reiterate, their customer service was too notch and the inside of the restaurant was VERY clean! Hope this helps ya'll

Got the loaded nachos, could barley finish them. Had the smoked turkey on the nachos it was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly.

Good taste. Good price macaroni salad is on point. Nice new clean facility. Good service bbq sauce is delicious
