I left still hungry. The portions are small. And no fountain drinks. Just overpriced 12oz can drinks.

AMAZING food. If you like the real deal this is the place to go. Growing up in border town CA, this place reproduces what it means to have GOOD Mexican food which I've found is few and far between in Dallas. It seems everything is home made and cooked behind a windowed kitchen. FYI depending on the day? The hot carrots (pls get them) will be hotter or maybe a little more bay leaf than the time before, the salsa hotter or more mild on same time scale. This food is from the heart and you can tell when you visit.

3 words Carne Adada Burrito! It was delicious. No bean, no rice, no lettuce, no TexMex..... Just meat, pico, and guacamole. LIKE IT SHOULD BE! I will be back...

This place is conveniently located on the corner of Main & Carroll, nestled in the urban atmosphere of East Dallas. Aesthetically, it appears rustic from the outside, but inside it lives up the Mexican taqueria stereotype, with 2 two tvs playing soccer in Spanish broadcasting stations, coca cola coolers with jarritos, and glass bottle cokes and other soft drinks. The menu has a variety of mexican options, from tacos, tortas, to quesadillas and everything in between. The little man who helped us knew both English and Spanish. Which allowed me to practice more of my Spanish.I ordered the beef burrito with a medium sized horchata water. The beef inside the burrito was cooked great and I'm glad it was not overcooked. Tomatoes, green peppers, and onions gave it a great authentic taste. If I had to critique one thing it would be that it could use a bit more salt. Their green sauce definitely packs an adequate pack of heat, I didn't try the red just because I traditionally pick green over red.Based on presentation its great to have the burrito wrapped in foil to maintain its warmth, and provides a cleaner way to eat it without coming apart. Bring cash just in case, they take cards, but they have been known to have technical difficulties from time to time.Big question is it better than Chipotle you're wondering? It beats Chipotle in taste in authenticity and price! Convenience-wise maybe not so much, since there are Chipotles everywhere!I'm feeling a light to decent 4 stars on this place.

Authentic, and good for your wallet. We love coming here on nights when we don't have anything to cook and don't want to spend too much money. Good food, nice service, and there are TVs to watch sports if that's your thing. There's usually fútbol on. Their rice is amazing!

This place isn't good at all. Aside from the very poor attention to customers. Beans and rice are from a can. Very bland. Their idea of green chicken enchiladas is some kind of weird chili sauce on top and just chicken with a bunch of onions and bell peppers inside. Not correct, or good. Almost was like eating a hot dog. I also ordered the caldo de res. Literally just water and beef fat and vegetables and mostly fat, not beef. If anyone knows good caldo, the fat should not separate from the broth unless it's cold. This 'stuff' was very hot and you could still see the enormous amount of fat that was separated from the water. One bite and my lips and mouth were covered in a film of fat. I didn't finish anyone of. Just left. They need to revise their recipes ASAP. I only went there because it was close to auto shop and I was waiting. I'll never go back.
