Go before the official start date. You can Avoid the traffic and you still get to see a ton of beautiful/unique/interesting houses all decorated for Christmas! Some are tacky some are classy, it's fun to see them all!

As always the kids enjoy the lights, however, for US adults driving, I feel there should have been more "light" signs for directions of the light drive path. Some areas had arrows, other areas didn't and we found ourselves following a line of cars and we'd already seen that street. Some homes participated in some did not and there were no signs leading you in the light direction.

It's nice but you need to drive around to find the houses with lights on the other surrounding streets. Beautiful area narrow streets with some dips.

I been going to this light display for years and I love it! I always go early in the holiday season to avoid long lines. the neighborhood usually has their lights up on display by the first of December so I suggest going no later than the second week of the month. When I go there's little traffic and I get in and out in an hour and a half. I never have to wait hours like some other people on these reviews, I avoid going during peak time haha. They do have police controlling traffic during peak time and they make you follow the set directions but if you go early in the season you can drive in any order you want and see some streets again. Over the years I do notice the same house decorated in the same style/same display but I don't blame them, Christmas decorations are expensive! I also notice some houses that always had lights no longer decorated, it could be that people move away and the new owners don't have a desire to decorate. The main streets that have the most houses decorated are porta bello ct, Westwood dr then crowley rd. Always enter from randol mill towards the neighborhood. Do not try to enter from Bowen to make a left on random mill during peak time because they will have that street blocked off. I suggest bringing your own snacks or hot cocoa to make it more festive and have holiday music playing in your car. There are a few houses that I have seen selling hot cocoa and snacks and I don't blame them, make lemonades when life gives you lemons. Also, go to the bathroom before hand.

It's a nice neighborhood to drive through, with most houses having at least some lights up. As with any neighborhood, some houses go all out and others do not. My kids think Montclair in Colleyville is more impressive, but why wouldn't it be? Those folks cough up the big bucks for professional lighting. Interlochen is just a group of neighbors getting into the holiday spirit, which in many ways is more endearing. It's certainly longer than Montclair, and if it weren't for the fact that we waited an hour just to get into the neighborhood, I'd probably rate it higher. The reason the line is backed up a mile is because of the hot cocoa stand on one of the early loops. It is clear this house is the problem because there is a massive line of cars inching along up until that house, and then it's smooth sailing from there on out. Certainly the police directing traffic have identified this as the issue by now, so my guess is that it's an HOA fundraiser of some sort. The whole neighborhood puts up with this traffic jam every night for almost a month... at the very least they should make a few bucks to pay for an open bar community Christmas party. We will likely return at some point to view the Interlochen lights, but it probably won't be next year.

I finally made it to see the lights! It didn't disappoint. So many great decorations and even some residents selling snacks too. Be prepared to spend a lot of time in your car so prepare accordingly. The line to get in took about just over an hour and then the experience took about 2 hours. It was well worth it!! Its a great fun event to do with your family or friends. Pack snacks and turn on the Christmas music and full tank of gas

So we spent over an hour and a half in line waiting to roll through this well known neighborhood Christmas light display. Unfortunately it was extremely underwhelming. Some houses participate, others do not. It was a bit disappointing as my expectation and the reality just didn't match, AT ALL. A child under 12 would probably be stoked about this display but not grown people, IMHO. Some neighbors were entrepreneurial and were selling cocoa, drinks, popcorn, etc but this is not worth your time and gas money unless you're bringing the kiddos. This is an over hyped light display that is better in theory than the reality. I'm still learning the area and hope to find better displays in the DFW. Come to this one for your kids only. Hope this was helpful.

Traffic here was exceptionally bad. This was my first year going. I'd say it's on par with Prairie Lights' traffic, which is massive, but a paid experience.Again, traffic sucks. If you're going to try'n be a wise ass and zip around or cut (or because you're really legit trying to get through the neighborhood), cops will stop you with a very official "No cutting!" bark. And if you do need in the line and manage to make it in without law enforcement bringing back 2nd grade recess rules, the person(s) behind you will not let you in for several cycles. When you make it in East Coast style and cut your way in, the person behind you will spend the remainder of the linetime with their brights on. Everyone is totally in the Christmas spirit.Once you get in the neighborhood though, the displays really are quite nice. You're kind of in awe about how the community can agree to do one thing. Traffic kinda sorta moves once you're in, with the worst hang ups being a) residents who park in the street, causing risky driving conditions, and b) an enterprising group of kids who sell beverages and snacks. Great idea on their end because it created quite the clusterf*k.Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!

Once we got into the neighborhood, it was fun. The variety and complexity of the bigger Christmas displays was impressive and interesting. But it took two hours of waiting in our car to make it into the neighborhood. The line was moving forward so slowly that passengers were getting out of cars, going into a Starbucks next to the road to use the restrooms and get drinks, and coming back to the cars, which had moved forward maybe 10 feet. We made it into the neighborhood about 3 minutes before the cutoff at 11 p.m. I'm not sorry we did it because some of the displays were really beautiful, but I don't think we'll do it again. If you go, GO EARLY to get in line.
