Huffhines Recreation Center

I attended a kinds birthday party here recently and was impressed by their dedicated event space. Everything was clean, organized, and the back kitchen was filled with items needed for a small event. The space also included access to their large open patio which allowed for small kids to get their energy out after all the party sweets were devoured. I recommend you check them out!

As a Richardson resident, the city will mail out letters occasionally that will provide for two free rolls of the blue bags. These blue bags are how the city picks up recycling at our curb once a week. I had such a letter and needed to get some blue bags. They are fairly inexpensive to buy if you don't happen to have a letter. The woman at the counter was so pleasant and cheerful!Richardson is a great city to live in. We are lucky to have such great city services: trash pickup twice per week and recycling pickup once per week. Also a Babic- Brush and Bulky Item Collection can be scheduled for larger bulky trash items (furniture, old appliances, etc) weighing over 50 pounds, brush and tree trimmings, etc. The pickup day is the same as your recycling day. This varies depending on where you live within the city. You can go to the city website www.cor.net for more information or to schedule your bulky pickup. There is also a phone app "My Richardson" where you can also schedule through. So convenient and easy!

After looking at multiple places for dance classes for my daughter I found that the rec center offer classes at a affordable price. The rec center offers different classes, gym area, basketball ball area, and ping pong tables. You can also rent out rooms for parties on the weekends. For a family of 4 for a long year member ship I believe is was $125. The keep the rec center very clean and have a big parking lot. If you drive a energy car the have a area to charge your car.

Huffhines has all new equipment post-pandemic. I never have trouble getting an elliptical if I want one. As a senior citizen resident of Richardson, this is a steal at $35/yr! You can't go wrong.

Everyone who works here is really nice and helpful. Really great atmosphere. The weight room area is always very neat and tidy. The classes are great and the people who teach the classes are great. The only concern is that the basketball court/gym is extremely dusty and makes it hard to breathe at times. Feels like they need to incorporate some sort of ventilation system or open a window in there. Other than the dust mite infested gym this is one of the best rec centers in the Dallas area .
