Love coming to Hook Line & Sinker! The food is always fresh and delicious but most importantly, fast! Service is top notch and friendly. Wish more servers in Uptown were that nice!We typically share an appetizer, such as ceviche or Mexican seafood cocktail (not too spicy but has a kick!), then share a catfish basket. The fish is always served hot and fresh. This last time I took advantage of their happy hour specials and got an order of chargrilled oysters...yummy! Can't wait to order them again!

Took my husband to HLS for a birthday treat, which was a major letdown. The fried catfish was a snooze fest, the hush puppies were like eating fossilized sticks, probably from a freezer bag. The french fries and stuffed jalapeño peppers were meh, with a weird previously frozen vibe. When you know better, you do better. I know better now, so HLS won't be seeing us again. The wait staff were friendly.

I have moved around the Dallas area several times over the last few years. However, there is one place I keep coming back to eat and that is Hook, Line, & Sinker. Perfect location, corner of Lemon Ave. & McKinney Ave. Dine inside or outside. Today I am having their whole catfish. It comes with hushpuppies, fries or you can substitute grilled veggies if you prefer. The fish is crispy and tastes delicious. Nothing is cooked until you place your order so food is always hot and fresh. I especially like their tartar and cocktail sauces. They have a self-service area for extra condiments. Check out all the merchandise while waiting for your order. Staff is friendly, tables and booths are always clean. I arrived about 4:30p on a Saturday afternoon and place was packed. Looks like I'm not the only one who likes this place!

My experience dining here was fantastic! We actually had plans to go elsewhere and on the way to that place, this little restaurant caught my eye, and so we ended up eating here. We all got catfish poboys and a side of gumbo. The service was quick and order-at-the-counter style. Inside the establishment, there is a lot of fishing decor (I mean, are we surprised?) and it's pretty clean and tidy. Food-wise, the catfish was crunchy and fried to perfection and the jambalaya was quite addictive. We loaded up our poboys with grated horseradish and some hot sauce and just absolutely demolished it. Like seriously, this ended up being one of our favourite restaurants from the entirety of our stay in Dallas! From the way the reviews read, it seems that the quality isn't THAT consistent, but we are so thankful we caught the good side of it, because when it's good, it's GOOOOOD.

STOP SUBSTITUTING TILAPIA FOR CATFISH! It's disgusting and flavorless! Yuck! This is my last visit here. Such a shame when this place used to serve awesome food.

One of my favorite spots in DFW for seafood. I ALWAYS recommend people here ! The food is reasonably priced and the flavors are bomb.

I visited twice and ordered the burger with grilled jalapeños, oysters, and salmon with white rice and vegetables. Overall, the burger was decent. The vegetables were well-seasoned, but the rice was bland, and the salmon lacked significant flavor. The gumbo was underwhelming, and the stuffed jalapeños were not worth ordering. However, the service was good. I'd consider returning to try the catfish since many people ordered it, but the oysters were terrible--they tasted like dirty lake water.

The food is authentic and well prepared. The atmosphere was clean and in the style of a Louisiana fish camp. The service was fast and friendly.

I have passed this place 100 times and always have wondered how it was. Well unfortunately it was not what I expected. I was so excited to eat crawfish for the first time this year and didn't know what to expect but it was extremely overcooked to where it was gross. It was so mushy and soggy and the tails literally fell apart as you tried to crack them open. Maybe the rest of their food is good but do not come for the crawfish.
