Heim Barbecue

I am going to start out by saying you get what you pay for. And Heim certainly isnt cheap, but by far it has some of the best meat we have had at a BBQ place in DFW.For 2 sandwiches, 2 sides, 1 drink and a dessert it was over $50. BUT it was more than filing and the food was quality. My favorite part is the mac and cheese which has a little kick to it!

The worst use of $30+ ever!I came in for their Heim special sampler with sides which includes brisket, ribs and burnt ends. What came out was very dry, cold and leather like. Not a single morsel was edible. The meat was incredibly difficult to chew. I've had beef jerky that was easier to eat. The sides were not much better. Granted, I had been here before and it was much better but today was a HUGE miss. All of it went straight into the trash. If management is reading this, I'd be willing to try it again and change my review.

Really disappointed in how this place has developed. It's not the same as when the original owners ran this place. Over the last year the quality has tanked. The food isn't the same, the portions are terrible. They ended some awesome specialty things like brisket tacos on Thursday. The most likely final straw for me was walking in during lunch and being told they were out of brisket, pork and chicken. Like wut? I just don't think I can do this place anymore. Unfortunate.

On a dreary and rainy Wednesday night, I stopped after an airport drop-off. 6:30, chicken sold out. Two meat plate with pork ribs (three ribs), brisket, beans and green Chile Mac n cheese. The ribs were delicious, a little sweet and salty. Perfect tender. The brisket (two slices) was nice, moist and tender. The Mac was cheesey but bland. The beans were oniony...I mean super oniony. The pepper was good, but damn they were oniony! The sauce on the table is unnecessary, and a little weird like a steak sauce...odd really. The saddest thing in the world is that a joint of this caliber uses absolutely terrible, neon green, chemical canned pickles. In 2024, when there are SOOOO many good local artisan pickles. Most burger places have moved away from Sysco junk. It is the mark of good leadership to have quality condiments. For me, personally, killed it for me. My two meat plate, with water and a tip was $28. BBQ is expensive. I enjoyed the ribs and brisket though

Heim Barbecue on Mockingbird at 3130 W Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX 75235I'm pretty hard on barbecue places considering I've been in Texas now for over 10 years and my hometown is Memphis, Tennessee. I have definitely ate at a lot of the top places and still there's more to eat at here in the DFW area. It was around lunch time when we came here on a Monday. Parking lot is a decent size but we were able to find parking on the right side. The line wasn't too long but there was at least half the amount of people that can sit in the building were there. My friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. I ordered the loaded potato skins with brisket. The barbecue sauce added an extra kick to it. My overall experience is for people getting off the plane at Love Field and going back home right after This would be their stop just to taste Texas barbecue .

Decided to stop in mid errand run. I love smoked turkey so I went with the turkey breast sandwich. Also ordered a side of large fries and Cole slaw to share. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich. The restaurant is very clean and has very well organized stations. I love the touch of white loaf bread by the condiment section. The fries are perfect. The coleslaw is diff more pickled and not very mayo based. Still good. The sandwich was perfect the bread is toasted and yummy. The meat is perfect. Now that bar b que sauce on the table is fantastic. I could eat a pint of it. Haha Can't wait to go back and try the bacon ends and the Mac and cheese looks fantastic.

Brisket and pulled pork. Mac n cheese and potato salad. Delicious. Not much else I can say about it. I'll be back next time I fly out of Dallas/Love Field.

Heim BBQ was amazing! We had it on Saturday and everything was delicious. The brisket sandwich was tender and flavorful, the loaded mac and cheese was the perfect mix of creamy and smoky, and the potato salad was a great side. 5 stars--definitely coming back! Great service and friendly staff too!

Finally stopped by here for lunch, right around the corner from work. The location is a great size and offers plenty of space. They gave a lot of options available for whatever your bbq desires are. I had the brisket sandwich and collard greens. The greens were some of the better ones I've had in dallas at bbq spots. The brisket sandwich was good and juicy but the bbq sauce was overly sweet to me.

I first tried Heim a year and a half ago. They had one of the best, juiciest briskets I have ever tried. Unfortunately, over the last year, the quality has gone down. The brisket is now dry and a bit bland. The pork ribs are still good. I miss their Taco Thursday deal.
