Halo Pizzeria

Five stars all around! For the cleanliness, service, and delicious food! I was thoroughly impressed with Halo Pizzeria. Being from NJ and relocating to the DFW area, it's hard to find NJ style pizza (the best). However, Halo delivered!! The first bite into my slice I said, "wow, this reminds me of Jersey." Safe to safe, we've found our new family spot for pizza.

I had heard the hype of Halo winning some awards, so I had to give it a try. I really wanted to rate this higher, but the pizza we received was not worth the $26.48 total (pizza, tax, tip) I paid. I ordered an 18" half cheese half "cup and char" pepperoni. We placed a takeout order and it said it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. It took 18 minutes to get there from where we were, and the pizza was ready right after we arrived, a few mins before the estimated ready time. We live 11 minutes from Halo, so realistically the pizza was in the box about 15-16 minutes before the first piece was taken out and eaten. Here is why I am giving 3-stars. The crust was tough as if the pizza had been reheated or had been in the box longer than I had it. The cheese stopped about an inch from the edge, but the sauce actually went further to the edge than the cheese. The half with pepperoni was pretty skimpy on pepperoni for the up-charge. Finally, the "cup and char" pepperoni had no char to them, which is the reason you order them instead of traditional pepperoni.Overall there just was not much to the pizza, especially for the premium price. I could get a comparable pizza from Jonny's, Joe's, NY Pizza & Pints, Roma's, etc. for $5-10 less. I cannot really speak to the service or ambiance because it was very transactional since I was just picking up, but it looked like a good place to watch sports and having drinks with your pizza and I feel like the premium prices are for the sit down experience and not a take out one.Maybe it was an off day, because it feels like I should have liked it more based on other reviews.

This is a takeaway order. We ordered the 14" Heritage Pizza. (Vegetarian).They did not skimp on the vegetables. Generous portion of veggies.The pie was good but could do with a little more seasoning.

Review update..So I gave Halo another try. It was excellent. The pizza was so fresh. I am usually a fan of thick crust. The crust was crisp and not soggy. We ordered the lemon pepper wings this time around. My daughter and I fought over them. The Halo Nutella dessert was delicious as well.

Cheese pizza was great, I asked for extra char on the phone and I got just that. Truly reminds me of a New England style pizza and the ingredients all taste fresh, thin crust as well. Also the patio is a great place to eat your food.

Legit the best thin crust in the area. The pizza is great. The crust is crispy and crunchy all the way to the end. It's the type of pizza you want to eat it all, including the crust. Legit!

We have had their pizza a few times and today we added the meatballs and a side salad. Their food is amazing!!! Learned about them from the Professional Black Belt Academy-Frisco and soooo glad we did!!! We live in Wylie but have to say that this is the BEST pizza I think we have ever had to date and we love the perfect thin crust!!! Soooo much flavor!!! We were so full we are taking our tiramisu dessert home with us for later.

Review of cheese pizza.Haven't found a place in DFW that does it better. If you actually like NY style pizza, you'll love it.

Best pizza around! Dessert pizza was to die for! Salads, sides and pizza all fresh and fantastic. Great service, clean, friendly. Can't wait to eat here again soon!

Great pizza, they use real hamburger and sausage. Loved it and will go again. The crust was great, but the sauce ratio was light. They did give me some marinara for dipping.
