Goldmine

Decided to give it a try based on the positive reviews. Hungry and ready for a late lunch , I ordered chicken fried steak, recommend by the nice waitress. Black eyed peas and okra, salad as sides and a big glass of tea.My son ordered grilled chops, green beans and a baked potato. Chicken fried steak was the size of a cantaloupe with a piece of meat the size of a playing card and saturated in what tasted like week old grease. Okra burnt and peas were flavorless.the salad was tasty and the thousand island dressing was tasty.Tea was off and too sweet to drink. My son's chops were tasty with charred grilled flavor but riddled with bone chips. His green beans were flavorless and inedible. His baked potato was the best part of his meal. This joint best described as an upscale Beef House complete with 60's/70's wood grain decor and a row of casino style "gaming machines"! Our waitress was super nice but for 40 bucks plus tip for a baked potato and a salad is really all we could salvage , it gets two thumbs down and I cannot recommend Gold Mine. Hours later both son and I experienced what felt more like a Land Mine in our trousers....

Really good comfort food. Fresh made to order. Nice friendly servers who keeps your drink full. Old diner ambiance. Prices low great value.

The price for what I got would have been good back in the 90's, but in this economy, it's fantastic. It's good, fresh food for a great price. I love the diner vibe It seems like a good place for breakfast on a lazy Saturday. The only reason this wasn't a 5 star review is because the service was really slow (we were there half an hour before we even ordered), but that wasn't for lack of trying on their part, they were just a bit understaffed I could tell all the servers were scrambling to provide everyone good service. I would recommend this place to anyone not in a hurry, or if they see that the parking lot isn't full.

I'm glad others have had a good experience, but ours was anything but. We came in about 6:00 on a Friday, there were maybe six or seven tables of customers. We sat down, got our menus and drinks relatively quickly, placed our order a few minutes later, then waited for our food. And waited. And waited. 30 minutes later I was starving, our waitress came by zero times. We finally waited long enough, flagged our waitress and told her we didn't want to wait any longer, and left. She told us kind of defensively "We're busy", but if half a dozen tables when we came in is busy... Maybe others are coming in when it's not "busy"? Good luck if you decide to try this place.

My boss and I came here after seeing the movie "Elvis" starring Austin Butler which was an AWESOME FILM and received 9 Oscar nominations and did not win one...HOW SAD THE ACADEMY has lost it's touch with reality. Anyway's The FOOD HERE WAS EXCELLENT! The service was the same. Our waitress knew the entire menu. Our Salads before the meal were delicious & LOVED the Ice Tea too. This was my first experience at the Goldmine, and I have been back since and EVERYTHING ON THE MENU WAS GREAT EVERY TIME I RETURN!

Came here after receiving a plate of spoiled meat at Waffle House and my expectations were more than met. Our waitress, who happened to also be the manager, and let me tell you --after being in the industry my entire life and watching the decline of service rapidly this was a breath of fresh air-- she was attentive, prompt, funny, charming, all around amazing and on top of all that THE FOOD WAS FIRE! I got the steak and eggs and was served a proper thick, juicy, perfectly cooked cut of meat and my boyfriend got the fried pork chop. I truly detest pork in all forms (ham, bacon, pork loin, etc) but I ventured out and took a bite and DAMN! this was heaven! I could've been tricked into thinking I was eating a plate of chicken fried chicken had I not known. Infinite bonus stars for our waitress not even questioning our request for apple pie with cheddar cheese like other places do. (if you're confused there's a scene in Taxi Driver where Robert DeNiro orders a slice and I've been on the hunt for years for a place to serve me it, usually met with apprehension/disgust when I try to order it elsewhere)All in all, 10 out of 10, would recommend. People are being obnoxious complaining about the decor and furniture, the restaurant was clean and inviting, the food was outstanding and the prices were low. If you're ever in the area then absolutely choose this over the other breakfast joints in close proximity.

My wife and I went to Goldmine and it was good.. the decor is the 60's or 70's.. they might want to get at least the 80's decor.. but it is a good business and it is cheap!!!

Great food and service, it is one of the places we like that reminds us of an old diner.

Been here 3 times and I love it here!!! Everything is great especially the the service staff!!!

This place is only for Family and In towner. My family and I Googled a breakfast restaurant because we were coming through the area. We walked in and no one greeted us we stood at the door for 5 minutes. The patrons looked at us as if our skin was too melanated to enter!!!! I repeat don't go into this establishment if you aren't a member of the Goldmine family. It was giving DWT!!
