Genesis has all these 5 star reviews for a reason - they are simply amazing. This has been our daughter's first time in and she is already signed up for the next production and she loves it! t's a complete joy to watch her confidence grow as she learns how to perform. And may I say, the performances are amazing. You will be amazed what a good director can do with a group of 8, 9, and 10 year old kids. If I could give 6 starts, I would. Thank you all from Genesis for being awesome!

My daughter has been to several different children's theater classes and productions from New York to Dallas and absolutely loves Genesis Children's Theatre and especially Miss Maddie, who runs some of the elementary class productions. The class sizes are small, the atmosphere is supportive and non-competitive and all of the kids I've met are very nice. If you're a stage mom or dad who enjoys pushing hard for your kid to get the leading role, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you're a parent of a child who wants a healthy and fun introduction to the stage and what it takes to write, edit and prepare for a small production, Genesis is just what the director ordered! Now go break a leg!

My granddaughter has been involved with Genesis for 8 years and has loved every minute. She has made great friends and learned a great deal about how capable she is to do things she would never have tried before. Our family has watched her grow into a confident young woman who isn't afraid to tackle any challenge. We are so proud of the talent she brings to every production. Acting and singing are her 'thing' and Genesis supports her growth in both. Thank you Genesis for all you have done to help her climb the ladder of growth in such an amazing way.

Best of Plano for a reason! Longtime Plano resident who just recently found Genesis. A shining star that makes EVERY child feel special, encouraged, and important. The instructors are amazing and kind and superior role models for our children in learning the important lessons of inclusion, tolerance of differences, teamwork, and cheering each other on. There is no room for jealousy or spite at Genesis. A safe and loving environment for our community's children. Can't recommend their shows, workshops, camps, or lessons enough!

A well kept secret, genesis theater provides students opportunities to work with professionals and grow as performers. I did the summer 2 week production, while it was tough (9am-4pm rehearsals! plus line work and character study at home) I have never learned so much! We took about 6 or 7 master classes from professionals ranging from Shakespeare to Musical Theater to improv. Also each of the staff members were professionals, so it was like a constant master class! It's more expensive than other children's theaters, but the cost difference is made up for in the quality.

Great summer and after school programs for all ages! Facility is small but space is well used. If you are looking for the glam of fancy spaces and big stage this is not for you. Intimate audience interaction, individualized teaching used to meet each student's needs, growth and A TON of fun are the elements that make Genesis the place to send my kids.

It's hard to find the words that describe the impact Genesis Children's Theatre has had on my life. From the beginning of my journey at this magical theatre, I have grown exponentially as an actress, as well as a person. The experience you find at Genesis Children's Theatre is unlike any children's theatre in the area, and in my opinion, the world. There's a reason Genesis was chosen Best Children's Theatre in Plano. The second you walk in the theatre you are greeted with warm smiles and loving words. For new actors, Genesis is a welcome, nurturing place to begin and grow an acting career. Surrounded by kids in the same boat as themselves, beginners have the opportunity to act in a safe place- a place were they can be themselves without any fear of judgment. Genesis is the prime location for lasting friendships to develop. The commitment and selflessness it takes to perform causes actors to grow close with each other in short periods of time. I have developed friendships in as short as a summer, that have proven to last through the years. Every actor at Genesis is equal; different shows provide different opportunities for actors to develop- whether it's a lead or ensemble. It's not about the money at Genesis, it's about the love of theatre. The Directors you find at Genesis are professional, but still affectionate, making every rehearsal something to look forward to. Genesis has a wonderful scholarship program that aids kids who want to act, but struggle with the funds. Acting is all about supporting your fellow actors, and Genesis has done that and so much more. I'm so grateful our community has been blessed such a wonderful theatre.

This is where seeds are planted. Genesis grows amazing actors and cultivates a love for theatre. My child has been at Genesis for 2 years now and refers to it as her 2nd home. And that is just what it is like. It is cozy, full of loving staff that nurture your kids. The family owned business will have their family in the house, including the director's son who was almost born in the theatre. The family dogs will lay at your feet while you pick up your child. Like my home, Genesis is filled with projects and the remnants of children doing something they love, so you won't find it spotless or sterile. Every aspect of theatre is taught from audition camps, internships for behind the scenes, directing and major productions. Single casting makes my child feel like a star even in the smallest of productions. The intimate theatre is a fantastic way for a child to learn, feel the love of the audience and grow. Every child is made to feel special at Genesis and every student of the theatre is taken from wherever they are in their study of the art and advanced from there. I can't recommend it enough.
