Okay so this was quite an experienceI had never done Korean bbq before so it was definitely an adjustment. Thankfully I went with people who had been and can cook! It's a very interesting concept bc you cook most of the food yourself! The first thing I noticed when walking in was that the floors are VERY slippery-my friends said probably bc of all the oils. We left smelling like smoke/bbq/food?? Which I heard is normal. All that to say, everything I ate was so freaking yummy and I'd definitely do it again!

Such a fun and new experience! I've come here about 5 times in the last 2 years for birthdays, get togethers, celebrations, ect. And it's always an absolute blast! I suggest going at lunch since it's often quieter (plus you get lunch pricing). Love the spicy bulgogi, if you enjoy something spicy. If sweet/savory is more your speed the honey soy beef belly is also amazing!! Such a cool atmosphere, you have a lot room where ever you sit so you don't have to stress about not having elbow space with your neighbor. Staff is always kind and helpful when it comes to asking questions on the menu.

We have been to another Gen location and service/food quality was always on point. Was excited to have one closer to central Dallas so we don't have to drive to Carollton. However, this location disappoints. Our side dish came out looking like it was taken from another table, half eaten (see pic below)---my friend and I looked at each other in disbelief. The kimchi was frozen when it arrived. Thankfully the meats were flavorful enough to make up for this appalling experience. Will be driving further to Carollton to get better K-BBQ.

We went here on a Sunday at around 11:30am. There was only one party in there, but as the day went on at 1:00pm the place was half full. Here are some warnings, just be careful where you walk as in most korean BBQ places the floor gets slippery with all of the grease involved. They have three types of menus to eat1. Lunch menu from Monday to Thursday, rest dinner prices2. Dinner menu Friday, Saturday, Sunday3. $20 dollars for premium meatWe ended up getting #3 which ended up costing us $51 dollars a person as we had the gift certificates that we got from Costco. They sold these at the Grand Prairie location if you want to know.We ordered mainly from the premium beef. I enjoyed the short rib on the big bone the most as we ended up getting two. I tried the ribeye steak and I enjoyed it, but my wife thought it was tough. We tried the wagyu beef, but it tasted like pork belly. We tried the sliced thin beef too and that was good as well. We got the lettuce salad which I substituted for the rice.Service was pretty good they were nice and were prompt. The manager even got involved serving the food. It will get slower as it gets busy, but it is okay. We did not enjoy the appetizers too much as I thought the Korean Fried Chicken was dried and it came with chicken breast. The noodles was alright. I did enjoy the dessert though the fried donut with filling, but I wish they did have ice cream as there is a lot of grease.Overall, I enjoyed the food, but it is something I could not do every week, but good once in awhile.

This Gen is a disgrace to kbbq tbh.Visited on a weeknight, most of the outer tables were taken. Service - like others have said, the waiters use iPads so either they're understaffed or they just forget to put in your order. Food - the meat was standard for AYCE but the banchan seemed old, rice was crispy and mushy (Asians know this means you got the bottom of the barrel rice that's been in there awhile), and the rice cakes are dry and cracking. Japchae way oversoaked with sauce and like one piece of bell pepper. The air circulation is good and it's in a good location. I hope they can improve!

One of the best Kbbq places I have been to! Very nice selection, relatively affordable, and quick staff. My favorites are the pork jowl and the beef bulgolgi. Ordering the hotteok, which is their dessert, is a must try! Lunch is $19.95 and dinner is $30.95, which is cheaper than most places back in Austin.

Got in line to be seated at 2:55pm. Was asked to join the waitlist as they were backed up in the kitchen. On the waitlist for 15 minutes. Were charged for dinner which starts at 3pm and is more $$Food was delicious. Have to ask for more sides and condiments. Service was very slow because there were not enough servers. 4star for food -1 star for poor management

This was my first time at a Gen KBBQ. Our server Chris was super attentive and helpful. The place is very modern and spacious. The selection of food of appetizers and meats are plentiful. However, I am giving this place 3 stars because the pacing was very awkward. We didn't get banchan or rice until after we had ordered and eaten our first meats. We also got our appetizers after two orders of meats.

Food is amazing, you can't go wrong there, however, the service Monday-Thursday is absolutely terrible. If we want KBBQ during the week, we go to a completely different establishment. Unless this place is busy, no one has a clue what's going on. 7 people cleaning one table, waiting 15 minutes to get drinks and order meat just to wait another 10 to get the items when there's 5 total tables eating is crazy. You can tell these servers were thrown into their role with no training as you fear to say anything about the service due to their anxiety. I don't know if the tenured servers only work weekends, but I think 1 is necessary during the week to assist costumers and train the others on slower nights.
