This is the pastrami dog... One of the best meals you can ever imagine the sour cream potato salad's pretty good too. I got mine at one of the amazing stops this truck makes at Clyde Warren Park. If you think it looks good imagine that it taste 100 times better where the only downside is you need to go through twice as many napkins and it finishes too quickly. And it finishes too quickly because you wolf it down because it's so amazingly good. Meat so flavorful you think that you just got the pastrami off of one of the best delis in New York or Los Angles. I've eaten at Cantors in Los Angeles and this is just as good a meat. I truly hope they make their way back to the park sometime in the near future so that I can have more of their awesome food.

The Gandolfos food truck out by work today, ordered the I love NY and a Dr.Pepper, yes weIn Texas. Regular sandwich sized bread, marbled rye, Russian dressing, taste was good, nothing out of this world but different for me (it was SUPER HOT) burned my mouth, but 18.00 bucks really? We are in Texas, not NYl, this is a once in a lifetime try, and unfortunately the priceRuined the moment. And yes lime other reviews, they do take some time to make your sandwich.

Gandolfo's did lunch at my office in far northern Plano today, and after passing by some of my co-workers' desks, I decided I had to have some of this action. After a fairly brief line, I placed my order for a bag of sea salt and vinegar chips and a Taxi Driver sandwich, featuring pastrami, swiss, grilled onion and sliced jalapeno, on grilled sourdough with spicy mustard. If there was a knock on the sandwich, I would have like a little "stronger" flavored pastrami, but it was really good, so maybe I'm picking nits. Thin sliced, almost shaved, it was tender and just the right amount of salty. The swiss cheese was nicely melted, and the onions were grilled but not browned, which is better for the flavor profile here. The jalapenos were fresh, not pickled, which also made for a nice flavor. Maybe even best of all, the sourdough was grilled perfectly, not too greasy, and had a delicate crisp to it as well as a nice sourdough "tang". A very nice sandwich! Give this place a try if they stop in your area.

I was underwhelmed. My Rockefeller Rueben was good, not great. The bread was fine, even though it was a little burnt. The fillings were fine, even though they were neither overflowing in flavor or volume. The spicy mustard wasn't, but it also wasn't terrible, The service was fine, but not overly helpful. I asked for a pickle not realizing (or being told) that the sandwich came with one. If it was a $4 sandwich, I'd consider it a 4 star, but not when it's $10+ just for the sandwich.

Parked outside the office... wondered why the line was short... got a look at the pricing and now I know why?!? I was looking for a building and some cloth with silverware the sandwich was so so after the pricing...and nothing comes with it all (al a cart) but hey it is another choice for people to make.

Outside of trips to Portland and Santa Monica, I'm relatively new to this Food Truck scene, but when I discovered Klyde Warren Park and the glory that is it's food truck selection, I had to dive head-first into one of my all-time favorite cuisines - deli subs.Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? One of the toughest parts of running a food truck has to be the service aspect. You've literally got to bring your A-game all day every day considering you can't provide a place for anyone to sit, but Gandolfo's absolutely nails it with their Dallas crew. Super nice guys who are happy to accomodate and have your sandwich out in a flash. Really, really nice and genuine people. Star Granted.Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?A good, non-chain deli sub is an investment without a doubt, but luckily I knew this going in, so I was more than happy to fork over $7.29 for a half portion of the "Big Apple" with extra meat. While it doesn't look huge in the picture, this was a meal and a half, and I can't even begin to imagine what a full-size would have looked like:http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=I8S-Mc8eOUvFtOfaFgedaQ&userid=OKX-V5j_qfuOebeHeWGrHgStar Granted.Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?Gandolfo's can dish up a brilliant sub, but my one gripe is that consistency can be a tad bit hit or miss. I've had subs at Gandolfo's that are easily among the best I've ever had, and I've had subs that have had me regretting my decision. First and foremost, you're looking at some really quality bread here, which is obviously one of the catalysts of any good sammie yeah? So the bread is solid, but it's in the meat selection that I've found a mixed bag. At times you get really amazing lean cuts of meat, but other times I've had a real dripper of a sandwich that really threw off the whole thing. Either way, there are amazing toppings of shredded lettuce and banana peppers, and a great mishmash of sauces that bring the whole thing together. Dual Stars Granted.Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? The product is great, but the consistency often has me deciding between Gandolfo's and nearby Uncle Ubers: http://www.yelp.com/biz/uncle-ubers-sammich-shop-dallas . That being the case, I can't say I would come here daily. No Star Granted.

Straight down the middle on this one. I'll start with the so/so: the fries are of your basic frozen variety, a little soggy and nothing to write home about. The potatoes in the sour cream potato salad were a bit undercooked for my taste as the dressing was on the bland side. I had the pastrami dog, he had the Reuben. The bread on his Reuben was really lovely and the addition of pastrami to my all-beef hot dog was killer. I don't think I would stop by this truck again, but the meal wasn't a let down.

I made my first visit to Klyde Warren Park with my buddy Dan today, and picked Gandolfo's as my mobile food provider. They made a solid sandwich (I asked for a recommendation, and they suggested the I Love NY), with about a good pile of corned beef and pastrami, sauerkraut, and spicy mustard on grilled marbled rye. I also opted for the pickle and a bottle of water. The bill came to $15 and change, about 50% more (all things considered) than what I'd pay at Deli News (who includes a side with the sammie), which I consider to be the best deli in Dallas. If Gandolfo's can get people to pay at this price point and survive, more power to them. Dollar for dollar, I'll opt for another food truck choice next time.

(FOOD TRUCK) So tried the pastrami dog, potatoe salad, and the black and white cookie. Let's get to the meat......The pastrami on the hot dog was so good I wish I would've gotten a sandwich. Hot dog was a Nathan hot dog and they have good dogs. Combined together, it was an okay hot dog..for me.Potatoe salad - was a crunchy mess. I am not a fan. It needed salt, barely had bacon, and it was just ugh...not my favorite. I'm a yellow Potatoe salad kind of girl anyway, so I probably should have just stayed away in the first place. The white and black cookie - why the F@*# is it called a cookie? It's a flat dry a** twinky with a sweet mediocre half chocolate and white icing. It was...blah. not a fan.But back to the meat...I really loved the pastrami. It was so good, I really went back and got a sandwich. Prices for full sandwiches are $11.00, half sandwiches are $6.00, and the hot dogs are 6 as well. #TryItYaSelf
