We were looking for horseback riding for the little one and found this place not too far outside of Dallas. The school itself is a bit hard to find as the small road does not have a road sign but there is a small sign for the riding school but you have to look hard for it. We were looking for a one time event for a birthday. They offer 30 minute lesson for $35. Perfect for us. The lesson includes an introduction, brushing the horse, about 15 minutes of riding in an enclosed area, and the brush down afterward. The horse we were assigned was calm and gentle. Ms. Sara was patient and clear in her instructions. The little one felt comfortable and enjoyed herself. We are happy with the experience and I would recommend it.

You will not find two trainers who care more for their students or for their horses than Ms. Jenny and Ms. Sara. We've been students of theirs for almost 3 years and I would highly recommend them.My daughter had suffered a nasty fall (before joining Galaxy) and had not been back on a horse for two years. We found Galaxy and immediately knew this was the place for us.Ms. Jenny and Ms. Sara patiently worked with my daughter to restore her confidence and we have never looked back. We've tried other barns and trainers and I have no problem saying, that for the first time, my daughter is actually being taught to ride.My daughter loves it here, and in fact, they were instrumental in helping us buy our first horse - Smokey!Ms. Jenny and Ms. Sara are two of the best and we trust them wholeheartedly.

I have been a rider for about 15 years now, riding in a few different programs. While my family lived in Texas, I spent several months at Galaxy taking consistent lessons with Jenny before my husband and I moved out of state. I can easily say that this riding school is a wonderful place. The environment that you enter into is very relaxed and warm. There is no uptight, nose-up attitude here: everyone is welcomed and everyone is encouraged to learn at their own pace. The equipment and gear are all very organized--you can't beat color-coding! Make no mistake, though, this laid-back attitude doesn't extend to the care of the horses--as a rider for over 10 years, and having worked in barns myself, I can see Jenny's intense and devoted dedication to the highest quality care for her horses. She knows each one like the back of her hand, needs and temperament and all, and she caters to each one. When you have lengthy riding experience, you can tell when horses look worn out and unhealthy from overuse in lesson programs--Jenny's horses are so well-loved and attended to, and you can see that in their weights, coats, and demeanors. They get frequent breaks for lessons for several days. Basically, they're spoiled haha. But they are the sweetest--no biting, kicking, or rearing happening in my lessons. The horses are loved and they know it.Jenny started slow with me, as I was returning to riding after having two kids. She had a goal in mind and followed a specific program for me, so I know she was keeping track of where I was at and was encouraging me to progress at my own pace. My lessons were the perfect blend of relaxed and challenging. I can definitely say, without a doubt, that I grew as a rider here. And I don't think I have been able to say that for a while. I highly recommend Galaxy Riding School. Whether you're young or older, new or a veteran to riding, you will love your time here. I know I did.

We scheduled a "Galaxy Exploration" visit. The reviews and pricing were very intriguing as we are currently paying double. I was very surprised by the unwelcoming getting we received. No smile and arms crossed the entire time she was speaking to us. (Isn't this visit supposed to help us choose you for lessons?) She did not seem very confident. I was not shown around or introduced to a potential lesson horse. Very disappointing to say the least. I would have loved to meet a lesson horse, seen the arenas up close, or see the tack room? Hell just a warm greeting and a quick walk around the barn would have been great. If you are looking for what all the reviews are raving about... keep looking, if I could give 0 stars I would. Maybe they need to schedule the "Explorations" with someone a little more people friendly?

This is probably the most honest review you will read today. So Buckle up, because this will be a long one. Little backstory to my madness: I ended up "saving a horse from a kill pen off a Facebook which wasn't really a kill pen but I thought it was" . Advertised as a well broke 7 y.o. Buckskin horse I ended up a proud owner of a horse that was "broke to ride and kid friendly ". Guess what-she wasn't ! Here I am , never owned a horse BEFORE in my life, recently moved from a big city to Texas decided I can do it on my own by watching YouTube Videos. After falling off a few times (was not my horses fault let me get that clear she's not hostile In any way) I thought to myself well it's probably best if someone that actually knows what they are doing can take a look at her. And I by a miracle found Jenny . She came to see my horse and I was aware of realistic expectations of what to expect from a horse that's greener than a fresh cut lawn. She told me that my horse may have some anxiety and a very short learning attention span. She advised me to put her on calming pellets and guess what it WORKED! My Nala is chilling like Snoop Dog after 6 weeks nothing phases her. Jenny also tried to have ear plugs to see if it will work for Nalas attention span. Yesterday was the very first time I actually enjoyed riding a horse I got 10 months ago. The trot Jenny taught my horse was just unbelievable. I had to double check my girls unfortunate scars to make sure it was my horse. Because the horse I gave her 2 months ago was an anxious, green mare that absolutely had no idea what we wanted from her and had trouble STANDING for more than 2 seconds. What I have now is a horse that is hard working and wants to please me. Jenny is so caring she texts me to make sure I know how my horse is doing. If she's low on food I get a reminder, if she's running out of her calming pellets I get a gentle reminder, if a farrier is due to come she's on top of it all. Not only I trusted her to train my horse, I actually ended up boarding at the same place and even though I live 30 miles away I know that this is the best care Nala will probably ever get! So if you're still reading this, you better reach out to this girl because she is the best. I can tell she loves what she does and she just wants the best for you and your horse. She's the best. Like best of the best. I cannot wait until the next few months to see what other magic she can do with my horse! It took me 3 months to actually write the review because yesterday was the time I actually teared up from JOY while riding my horse for the first time. Ever. Thank you Jenny !

Please read my entire review before judging! My daughter right after her first lesson caught cold and cough.Thankfully, she was fine within 3-4 days but weakness lasted for a week.Mind you this child is a virtual learner, healthy eater and active. After two weeks was her second lesson. As soon as the lessons began,I found the horse was sneezing. Upon inquiring with the gentleman who works there, I was told that the horse has cough and cold and is on medication. Some other guy who was supposed to give him medication, has not been doing it consistently and hence,he is still sick was his defence.Nonetheless,I appreciate and thank him for his honesty. Btw, he was smoking not too far from my daughter. My daughter's teacher, had barely had her mask on even though when she was coughing. She is a wonderful teacher and I love the place but not at the cost of my child's health. What really irked me was that why a sick horse was used to come in close contact with my child.Had I not been there inside checking on her, nobody would have bothered to tell me that the horse is sick!I am not making any connections here with her falling ill the first time but in these Corona times we expect a bit more honesty when it comes to health,be it humans or animals. I hope moms could see where I am coming from. Please stay close to your kids!

There are many reasons why I love this riding school. Ms. Jenny is an amazing Instructor. She is always positive, encouraging and supportive of each and every lesson. The horses are the sweetest, most well- kept and well behaved. They offer a variety of specialization lessons and you can take more than 1 at any time. Not only do I learn something new every class, but it is very therapeutic to be around the horses - I've had so much for confidence since starting. I recommend this school 100 %.

Love this group of ladies and their horses! Such a fun group and very knowledgeable in all things horse related! Miss Jenny emphasizes safety and wants each rider to have a strong foundation as they move through the various levels. Miss Sara is kind and patient with the littles as they grow in their love for horses. Super fun summer camps and all the best parties!
