Funky Munky Shaved Ice McKinney

So we were looking for a sweet cool treat and this place hit the spot. I had rode by it many times but never stopped. It's just a small trailer with a few picnic tables and some shade. Their menu has many cool options.... basically shave ice with ice cream and a flavor of your choice. The 12oz size was plenty big for each of us and the prices are good compared to a place like Andy's. You have to go slow or brain freeze kicks in. I got a chocolate something and it was really tasty. My boo had something wedding cake flavored and it was also very yum. Just a really good low cost treat when it gets hot out..... will Def visit again.

The fact that this place is almost 40 mins away from me (on a good day) makes me want to cry! This is the absolute best shaved ice place I've ever come across and I make it a point to try shaved ice every where I go. Prior to finding this awesome place, I've been a huge fan of Bahama Bucks but try to find reasons on the weekend to head out to McKinney and currently it's either for Mellow Mushroom or Mom and Popcorn (reviews on these locations to come!).It was just the husband and me on this trip but can't wait to bring the kids. The location is tons of tables and games to keep the whole crew entertained. The menu has such an amazing variety that I didn't know where to start so I asked for their most popular drinks with a little sweetness, but not too much. They recommended the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and it was exactly what the doctor ordered! I don't know how you manage to put that flavor in a snow cone but it was absolutely amazing and tasted just like the real thing (the picture does not do it justice). My husband also asked for a recommendation and got The New One because we have pina colada and pineapple. It had a wonderful balance, but ended up being just a little to sweet for him - he's going to order the Pineapple Upside Down cake next time...lol. If you're in the area, or you're like me and you're in love with a good snow cone, you will not be disappointed by making the drive to this place.Oh, and the people working there could NOT be nicer and the owner is the BEST!!

Sweet little food trailer with a fenced in seating area is offering gourmet snowballs with exotic combinations. The service was friendly and suggested the addition of caramel. My daughter said that our eating in the red chairs in the shade big oak trees felt like a Southern Living article. We will be back.

Love this place! Shaved ice was great and service was amazing. My son spilled his shaved ice the minute we got to our table and they were nice enough to give us another one for free. They also had fun lawn games to play and lights around the picnic benches where we ate. Definitely will be going back!

This is such a great location. There are plenty of shady trees and a nice patio with some games and plenty of seating. We got a funky monkey and a piba colada. They have lots of fun combos and topping too. The staff is super friendly. It's just a great experience all around.

I got one of their "fancy" flavors "The New One"... pina colada, blue coconut and pineapple snow stuffed with a scoop of ice cream and topped with cream! Whoa! Lots of creamy goodness! Flavors are on point and the ice is light and fluffy! Great little place with shaded tables, chairs, corn hole and other fun stuff. Will be back!

I fancy myself a shaved ice aficionado, and being from the NO (we have the best snowballs) I was skeptical. Yet to my surprise Funky Munky hit it out of the park. They have the perfect ice and more flavors (regular and fancy) than you can imagine. The location is family friendly with tables, umbrellas, cornhole, Jenga, connect four, tix tac toe and more. Perfect treat for the summer heat.

So good! Lots of fun flavors. A good, old fashioned treat for summer! Plus you get a cute little plastic monkey on your cup. My grandkids love it! And the people working there are nice, too! GO NOW!!

Amazing! A must try. Shaved ice or "raspas" are a staple cold treat in the RGV, and this place feels like home for me. You need to stop by and try it out! Quick service, nice seating area for you to enjoy. We'll be back once a week for the rest of the summer! I loved the blue coconut. You should try it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Thank you!
