I think maybe I arrived after closing time, or perhaps there was something else going on in town that drew away the staff because I did my walk through the interior and then the interior. No one asked me if I needed help and no one offered to show me around, there was no one in the gift shop. The interior is a large collection of memorabilia and models and dioramas that is too small by half. There's a lot of stuff here and I think that even if you doubled the size of the space, these folks have more to fill it. So just try to take it in and don't get claustrophobic. The outside is where the magic happens, with a collection of some two dozen aircraft. Some are fully restored. Some are rust buckets. All of them are wonderful to look at and appreciate. There's even an airport firetruck!I had an enjoyable hour here and I know that your kids will love it too.[Review 16099 overall - 279 in Texas - 1604 of 2021.]

Enjoyable morning at the Fort Worth Aviation Museum. It's a small place - one room indoor space and then the planes and helicopters outside - and the affordable admission prices reflect that. We snagged a groupon on sale and were able to get our whole family in for $7.00, but the regular prices are pretty reasonable.Last year we visited the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum in San Diego and I'd say this is on par with that. Small, but still very neat to see the aircrafts up close. The docents were all very friendly and engaging, not only answering questions but also volunteering answers to questions we didn't think to ask. A few interactive parts appeared to be closed due to COVID, but you still could walk through the CH-53 Sea Stallion. There was also a bare-bones helicopter open to kids for playing. Otherwise, it was mostly just looking and picture taking. I think the museum could be improved by adding stairs to some of the aircrafts so visitors could climb up and view the inside. The hours are extremely limited - 9a to 2p Saturday's only. With young kids, plan to spend about an hour to an hour and a half. Without kids, you'll probably want to spend a little more time inside and at each aircraft, so I'd plan for a 2 hour visit.

We've now been to 4 aviation museums, and this place ties for best. This place has docents, and if one is available, your visit will be so much more enjoyable. Gib was our docent, and he was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He was a military pilot, and a commercial airline pilot after that. Quite a career! We spent about 45 minutes inside looking at displays, which was extremely informative. There's a lot of history inside that building. Next, about 1 1/2 hours outside looking at planes. Gib knew the history on a lot of them. They also repair and restore planes here. A whole LOT of volunteers spend a lot of time here. One of the volunteer mechanics was checking out a Harrier Jump Jet, and he took the time to talk to us. SO informative. Thank you sir. We had to leave because of our time frame, but it would be easy to stay longer. Gib, thank you for your time. We certainly enjoyed our visit.

This place is new to the Fort Worth area in recent years. I don't remember seeing this place here while I grew up in Fort Worth. Great staff that works here and friendly. Nice gift shop too.For the price and viewing of the aircraft they have is not a bad deal. They even have some veterans in the building explaining to the kids about what the gadgets mean and do while being a pilot in the cockpit. They even inspired my daughter to become a pilot. Explained to all my kids what it takes to become a pilot. The museum is worth coming to view and see. I definitely want to come back to get some souvenirs next time.Parking is on a private lot or you can park in the street in front of the entrance. Easily to navigate to from I35 or 820.

I took my family here on a lovely Sunday afternoon when we were looking for something new to do. We didn't have high expectations, but boy were we surprised. They have wonderful volunteers who are a wealth of information & that made the experience really great for me. There are so many planes to see, some you can walk into. They also have a real cockpit inside that you can climb into to get the experience of what it feels like to be an actual fighter pilot.

It's just a cool place to visit for anyone into aviation and military aircraft--so much to see! What's truly amazing to me is the volunteerism that goes into running the museum.

Wow...! My 17 yo and I went in (early) to check out the museum. Mr. Akers took us around on the most amazing tour of our country's planes and artifacts. I'm so grateful to meet the crew at the museum who showed us what pieces meant to them and how they impacted our country. Super hot day. Wear sunblock and bring waters. There are at least 30 aircraft and it's hands on!

There were a lot of historical military aircraft there. Most had a tie into the local area having been assembled, tested, or housed there. You could probably get a docent to keep you informed for hours or your could quickly see everything in an hour or so.
